  1. There's no reason though for Premier League to bring it in house any time soon, with all the extra costs it would be to them. The TV deal is consistent money across the years and they will just keep extending the amount of games that can be shown to keep it at same value (at worse). If the club the fan follows does terrible, are theygoing to keep paying the top monthly package to watch them? Or reduce the package or cancel altogether and get a new one following season?
  2. DoF should then essentially be a negotiator. Someone more aligned to Ashworth way rather than Mitchell. As I would guess Ross is the one that’s linked to clubs and talks with Nickson.
  3. We doing this backwards? Howe the king pin, appoint someone above him that he likes and matches philosophy wise, then we appoint a DoF that’s aligned to that, then a CEO that’s essentially just about the commercial side?
  4. Horse has bolted IMO and this will just speed things up. Scudamore got out because he knew he couldn’t hold clubs back any longer, Masters from word go didn’t have same authority and doesn’t matter who replaces him, they will have even less authority. I would expect the big clubs to get more of the oversees TV revenue by decade end, and going hyperbole. Them to reduce the relegation spots down to 2 sides. Man Utd / Spurs getting that close will make them nervous a bad season and relegation is a real possibility that never used to be there.
  5. Premier League as we know it then won’t ever be the same. Masters will finally be turfed out and there will be an almighty power grab by the big sides to get more of the pie during the turmoil.
  6. It’s also 115 charges. Not like that’s an easy process and all have to be wrapped before anything is announced. Theres some major ones in there and some that will come with £50k fines, and they can take just as long to wrap up legally. Giving how Premier League are inept, I can’t see it being anything substantial. Previously hoped for like a sizeable 40+ points. But if it ended up say £50m fine, 8 points and 2 window ban (that’s reduced on appeal to 5 points / little less money and one window ban) it’s just a nothing outcome.
  7. Still couldn’t get this deal finished over the weekend? Or our guys clocked off on Friday afternoon and it gets concluded today?
  8. Chelsea are no worry next season. Still got headlosses and players that do dumb things, and will continually disjoint the side with signings. Their form since Christmas has been bang average and this CWC run will get air blown up them which will inflate their rep.
  9. Silver lining, will only be for 12 months when they want to upgrade him. A couple of red cards will see him go same way as Jackson.
  10. Blame Doue. He smashes in that chance, they probably ratttle away with this game. Cunts.
  11. Chelsea will have players that should start pre season, but can’t because the side isn’t back home yet. Unless they’re training with youth teams?
  12. 3 year deal in national south Played a blinder there if he’s on a respectable £2k pw
  13. Has there been any indication that Frankfurt will only sell for release clause? Said in other thread I can just see this as a smokescreen, but only way I could see it being viable is they have indicated he’s available for less. Like £65m+ mark (£55m with realistic add ons). Joined 18 months ago for like £14m, so it’s still a massive profit.
  14. Ekitike is a massive smokescreen. No way in hell we're signing him, but a £50m striker signing from elsewhere must be closing behind the scenes.
  15. Main positive with Guehi, he could join 10th of August and be in a position to start first game if we had an injury in defence. No easing in needed with him. With Scalvini, he will be eased in across the season but will require Schar to start 75%+ of games up to end of this year which won’t be ideal. Likely higher ceiling, but there’s value in having someone who can slot in straight away. Door is firmly open for back to back UCL qualification which is the long term game changer.
  16. £25m on him and some of our lot are losing their mind at paying £30m+ for Trafford.
  17. Maybe if he wasn’t so shit when coming on, he’d got more or even a start in 2nd half season. He can say it’s a challenge to make an impact of the bench, but he did himself no favours with how utterly woeful he was.
  18. They already spend more than us and are in a poorer state. A club can have loads of money, but if they don’t use it wisely and have a poor manager, it’s all meaningless.
  19. Think though, PIF are happy to do things by the book and underwrite money to help progress but won’t do daft stuff as it’s outside their country. Then all the sponsorship stuff is them needing to ramp up the Saudi Vision ahead of their World Cup. Yea it’s bit of a joke, but our direction has been the best I’ve experienced following Newcastle so not going to lose any sleep over it.
  20. They going for the ‘get our claws into every club’ so when we ramp things up here it’s a “don’t vote against us, because we’re propping up your fragile ecosystem”.
  21. Never saw Etihad Airways sponsor a major rival of Man City.
  22. The only negative for Gallagher I’d have, he’s not really cute with the ball. And I feel that’s a midfielder I’d want for something different, whilst them still being a hard worker.
  23. Gallagher role at Atletico is also different to how he was played at Palace. Guy is a very well rounded CM.
  24. Medical faxed over and will be processed on Monday.
