  1. He could be key to them staying up in a transitional season, so selling him for £40m+ next season is worth the loss of £20m this season.
  2. Garnacho is one of the hardest pressing players He’ll have a rep hanging over him like Man Utd players have but is soon debunked as soon as they leave. Whoever snags him this summer will have a really good player.
  3. Said in another thread about using a loan with buy option to exploit Chelsea situation and nab good young CM. But how about doing this for Josh Acheampong? I rate him in similar ball park to Lewis Hall. Immensely talented and he’d be a good long term RCB lock down, who can also cover RB. Can slowly phase him into the side too ready for 26/27, but would be confident on him if Schar was out for a period of time, cementing the place early on. Edit: Like the fee would be around £30m I’d anticipate, and that can be booked onto next PSR window whilst getting a player this season.
  4. I’d happily take Garnacho. Think his ceiling is so high and it’s proper dumb from Man Utd to get rid.

    João Pedro

Guess we’ll be moving more into a 4-4-2 shape out of possession which we have seen at times with Gordon when up alongside Isak. Wouldn’t be shocked if Pedro ends up in a similar role to Joelinton, as in moving more into a central midfield, but then a better player in final third.
  7. Championship is probably like the 6th top league in Europe As much proven as any keeper outside of the traditional top leagues IMO.
  8. Just seen we’ve uploaded a video of all Murphy G/A from this season. Probably say it’s a timely upload to remind of what Elanga has to match next season
  9. Como gunning for UCL this season. Proper rich owner so will be fun to follow this season.
  10. Get that noon shit off it and have the strips going all the way down the sleeve, it would be a proper banger. Any chance you could get the kit in that way anywhere?
  11. Those transfers are more about the wages. Players moving at that age are on for final big deal, and we're still not in a position where we can have our depth be on circa £100k+, where after one season they're surplus to requirements and can ride out their wages for next 2-3 seasons.
  12. Do think there's scope for a young CM that's loan with option/obligation to buy end of season. Chelsea the easy target again, but I like the profile of Chukwuemeka who would fit that criteria. Or more extreme option, Kellyman. Not seen the latter, but he had a high reputation around him and there's no clear pathway for the youngsters into that Chelsea midfield.
  13. He's still uncapped by Holland, on back of two injury hit seasons. His wage couldn't have been high to start off with (like has to be below £100k), so if we can get him tied down on similar wages that takes him up to his 30, that's a good deal. Think even if he turned into a bit of a stop start injury CB, he's depth in quality over rest of this decade for the wages he'd be on, would be very hard to match.

Own goal at SJP again please.
  15. It's great for the squad, would need to bring in some young players though because following summer we're in a similar boat to 2024 potentially. Not many sellable assets (unless they're our key players) and need to replace many in squad (RB/LB, CB, Back up GK, CM ideally in 2026). Does feel a bit that we are positioning ourselves with a strong 16, that if a eye catching offer comes in for say Gordon, Barnes or Joelinton, we are more inclined to accept because we'd be in a better position of strength to deal with it.
  16. There's breaking and sustaining it. If you end up in there, but then have to sell a star asset the following summer because you are up shit creek financially, was the fast-paced nature worth it?
  17. That would essentially be around £140m though Who the hell would we sign as CB? Or is that going to be this summers RW position. After not signing one last summer, we don't this summer, and roll with Schar, Botman, Burn and Lascelles still
  18. A cult image of all three holding their shirts in same image early July.
  19. We are getting a squad for this, but like to think approaching it in a better way. Villa route is working for them in short term, but will always say their approach under Monchi will end in tears because only Emery is holding it together. The turnover of players and amount signed isn't financially efficient. All well and good signing someone for £45m and selling them for £45m the following summer to enable some more spending, but the signing on fees/agent costs are just wasted money then.
  20. Just watched that and I'm all set on him now Can see straight away how he would elevate us. The first time crossing on his right foot, on the money which Wood scores. That replaces Murphy to Isak comb. Mixed in with you don't only have to worry about that, but he can nonchalantly come in on his left foot and behind it quickly around the keeper into the goal (or pass to Isak). Added bonuses, when through one on one, he has the finishing ability more of Barnes and final bit, set pieces. Whipped in with pace, which we have no-one who can really do it well for us.
  21. People clump technical in "Can he thread a pass through the lines, jink his way past players". When it's more can they control the ball in tight spaces, cross, shoot for me and be competent off both feet. His crossing is loads better, he's good with both feet. The tight spaces bit I'm unsure of as it's never needed at Forest. But if he was receiving ball in positions that Gordon finds on the left, on the right, I'd back him to make the most of it. Not like he's a knock and run merchant, where his touches are heavy and his pace makes up for it. It's refining the end product that sees him go from 15 G/A player to 25 G/A, which you want from your main wide man.
  22. I’d argue the 00s was a different era, but as we went into the mid 10s, he made sure Chelsea was not operating at those losses.
  23. Unless it’s a state that owns you, no one man can or wants to keep running big losses. It’s a huge gamble Villa are going down.
  24. Think there’s a valid argument for a few. But it’s just because he’s English and playing for a lesser side, he won’t get the traction. He’ll be in full England set up this season, 100%, then his name will start getting linked to the top sides as we head towards summer 2026. I think he’d be great for Arsenal and compliment Rice / Odegaard. Decent Prem Level player for me is a very good player. Get them in a side that has more of that level with a couple of exceptional players, you have a title challenging side.
  25. You’d assume if we did make a concentrated effort last season to sign him, Elanga would’ve informed agent he’d want to move next summer if deal was there again (and things like us in UCL happened). Very much doubt we’d have gone back in if the message wasn’t there he wants to join. It just ends in Guehi situation where player may want it, but club doesn’t. Considering we both helped each out last summer and had exceptional seasons on the back of it (where it could’ve been different), there should be some good will in the negotiations to get it done quick.
