Get him signed. Fuck the technical CM, someone who can thunder cunt it in and rotate with Joe will do.
-
He’s scored some goals this tournament. How old is he?

I just love how football comes up with storylines that no-one would ever come up with
-
This is how I can see World Cup being and towards USA winning it.

Looks like Mateta will be off for £35m. Cheap giving context of other striker signings.

Regular theme really, no-one in the pockets. Striker needing to either drop deep into CM or have two CBs mark them. Alright if it's Haaland stuff, because they then have two players positioned in those spaces, we seemingly do neither. Don't know why we can't just push one of the CMs up like Joelinton was against Bilbao at home and in general in seasons gone by. Wingers hugging the touchline doesn't help either. When Elanga was on, he was popping up loads next to Wissa in middle, which is an improvement, but it then meant no wide option and still no-one on edge of box wanting it into feet on half turn. Simple to defend against.

But I don’t, that’s the point. Before window opened, we sniffed for Delap, Chelsea moved and then we were looking at wanting to keep Wilson. We then went for Etititke which then blew up the whole Isak saga into the spotlight. We then targeted god knows how many strikers, Isak saga still unknown, signed Wolte, then buckled on Isak and went back for Wissa. If Wilson stayed, would we have just signed the one striker? All unknown, which makes the logic behind our decision unknown. Especially when summer before we couldn’t get the RW and was happy to go with Almiron / Murphy again, and it yielded our most successful season in our life time. Cancelled Osula loan as fear was Wissa may not happen, so had some trust in Osula being needed?

Still in League Cup SF. FA Cup 4th round. Just 3 points off 4th. And should be going through in UCL. Issue is, nothing is improving on pitch, so if we are still in FA Cup, still in UCL and still within 3 points of 4th by end of Feb I’ll be amazed. Be one at best.
-
Then how did we go from low 30s to 55 on deadline day if he wasn’t a panic? There’s paying more, then there’s scrambling around with minutes to go, because all eggs were put in his basket. We went into a season with Almiron still RW last season because we couldn’t get the deal right. What changed this summer with the striker?
-
That’s bollocks. Been loads like that this season.
-
Clear goal, nothing wrong there.
-
We even played Gordon loads up front, so even he was deemed a viable, if unsatisfactory option, if needs be. There was plenty to go with instead of £55m on a 6 yard box man.
-
Yea, he’s bang average at best. But it was end of August, take stock, get through three stop start international months, December is what it is, then sign early Jan if needs be. It sums up how badly we are run past 18 months. Won’t gamble on January deals, but will end of August window. Theres no difference.

We had Wolte and Ousla, there was no need to panic at that point and spend FUCKING £55m on a striker. We were mugs just like Liverpool were. Told player we would sign them, and in the end had to double down on it.
-
Low bar, but cleared it. It is like a fat kid in u12s and saying ‘well done’, because they kicked it forward for once.
-
He’ll get some pelters, but we have to keep starting every game and get ourselves used to him and moulded ready for next season. Any rotation for Wissa will be shortsighted, and will just lead to inconsistencies.
