  1. Arsenal are like Man City of past and Liverpool, can zip through gears and score 2 goals in a blink, so understandable. Every other side and it’s party atmosphere 2nd half.
  2. Sloppy with ball in that half, but can’t fault the shape, energy and being clinical. Essentially had two chances, scored 2. The subs going to be so huge in 2nd half. Gordon will be fucked soon, so that change will be key. Probably can see Longstaff / Willock on for Gordon / Murphy around 60 mark, then Isak a cone up top as he’s fucked Would like to see Osula if that happens for his raw pace.
  3. We’re so shit with the ball. Going to cost us at some point.
  4. Isak is smashing his big bollcoks about so far.
  5. Their directness is bypassing our midfield, so means they’re picking up easy 2nd ball. That’s what 2 CMs fails to give us.
  6. Quite impressive as well that we have got 5 at the back, and the defence has become even slower than if we played 4
  7. What’s made the back 5 chatter be a thing? Was a proper wild play in first leg, but something we can’t be doing again for more than 20 mins tonight. Keep team same, maybe Longstaff for Joelinton if Joe not 100% fit. One thing I will give Longstaff for a game like this, his connection to the area will get his extra 10% which makes up for his lack of ability.
  8. Many nervous shits today. Hopefully the actual team had 0 and smash the fuck out of tonight. Feels like it’ll be a massive first 60, probably be like 1-1 at best and then it’s shut up shop for final 30.
  9. Why the big clubs keep pushing for more reforms that gives them added protection to get into UCL, because even if they’re shit in the league they can keep the money coming to maintain gap over rest long term. With likes of Man Utd / Milan / Juve currently not looking like qualifying, won’t be surprise if the push for next UCL reform is for clubs who don’t qualify via league/holders, qualify based on historic co-efficient, so those sides are protected to keep getting that UCL money.
  10. Monchi and his burning through players. Must waste so much money this clubs on signing on fees / agent fees.
  11. But he was never going to be a first team player. 3rd choice LCB, 3rd choice LB. Not some player with potential, he was what you see, what you get. And that was average at best.
  12. MLS going to be hyped up loads, when Hall has been doing this all season but doesn’t play for the top sides so doesn’t get mentioned.
  13. I really hope we don’t sit back against Man City ffs. Such a weak team these days.
  14. Give Amorim what he wants.
  15. Like I’d rather lose a top star because a club has paid £100m (or OTT price), then lose one because we’ve made signings and had to accept a shit deal (like the rumoured Gordon nonsense with Gomez).
  16. I’m not worrried about any top players going. All got good deals and if they do go, it’s for very big sums and football moves on. You then back the club structure to improve the squad as a result and then we have new stars to enjoy.
  17. I assume it’s all part of future spend in summer and us being proactive with sales for once. No point keeping players when they’re not really contributing to the season in a positive way.

    Joelinton

Think it’s because he’s getting the ball more / being asked to receive ball more, in areas that he’s not good at and not used too. Pressing from the front, charging with the ball, superb, but the traditional midfield stuff of pass and move from inside your half is not his game. And as sides give us more of the ball to use as a trigger press, he will be one to target. Wouldn’t be getting rid, but he should be on rotation with someone else for that LCM spot next season.
  19. Same as Barkley, who was lauded in same way for an amazing deal. Odd glimpse and impact, largely irrelevant, with high wages for seasons to come. Only fall back this time for Villa in short term, Asensio is a short loan.
  20. It’s an insane amount of wages, on players who are a mixture of hot/cold and aging. It’s the type of deals people thought we would do, and I’m glad we haven’t done. Good for 2 months, then left with him for many more months afterwards.

    Joe Willock

He’s a player for me that if he started 5 in a row, we see the best of him, coming off bench or odd start here and there, nothing. Which makes it tough because he’s a good squad player in some ways, but others not. If an offer of circa £20m is there in summer, he’ll be off.
