Lookman and Gordon have shown looking at base stats of G/A is meaningless, because if they’re in a crap side, they will be bad. It’s about their ability which both have shown since moving to sides that are attacking with good coaches.

Core, I proper want us to get Ederson. Energy levels and ability perfect for us. Make it happen and deal with finances afterwards.
-
I’d say our squad will be far better next season then this season, with the experience, to juggle both a low quality competition till the April and go hard in the league for UCL. It’s the domestic cup runs on top that have the negative impact. Only the truly elite can do both, and it’s often because their youth is decent enough to get the results.

If he’s number one target, hope we just pay what’s wanted and get it wrapped up ASAP. Feels that Ederson / Alison could leave Man City / Liverpool for Saudi if a bid comes in, and would want a top keeper. Let’s not do the ground work and miss out at the end.

He’s not even someone special IMO. Type of CB that will be available in an abundance. Just hyped up because he’s young, English and got called up to England. Rather signed Chalobah for £25m for example. Harwood-Bellis same level in my view too, and he’ll be going to Southampton for £20m if they go up.

Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Best team we’ve had on paper since like October? 3 days after just finishing season and travelling to other side of the world Better be the worlds longest cool down, and not some high intensity match. -
Ryan Sessegnon leaving spurs on a free after 18 months out with hamstring injuries. If we were to get rid of Targett, worthwhile picking up on a free? Be huge gamble if he’s properly broken, but still a useful squad player there if that can be changed.
-
Doesn’t sound fully great on Gordon by Southgate. Did the guy travel to Australia? Or is he actually getting some rest for his ankle?
-
Only problem, as we move forward and want to compete at the top, your goalkeeper HAS to be able to play football. The goalkeeper is an extra outfield player so you can move one of the defenders into the middle, have three spread across the back with the goalkeeper as the 4th. It’s then more passing angles to move opposition around, retain possession and bypass the press. We’ve seen it far too often this season, our back line is a flat 4, where ball gets shifted to one side or other and clipped down the line, possession lost, or that’s not on so goes back to goalkeeper who then punts it long, possession lost.
-
Football can change quick, couple of hamstring injuries next season and those moves are gone. Mitoma was touted last summer, and look at this summer after the injuries? Think if a move is there this summer, he’ll want it and push for it.

God I hope we do get into Conference League. Real genuine chance of winning that competition, with some fun away days along the way. Just what you want as a fan, will be so gutted if Man Utd win next week.
-
Defo something to build on next season in a positive mood.
-
With a 23+ GD. Always a marker GD for me if a side has been good in reflection of their position, and ours says to me, without the awful mid season injury spell when we had to play like the same side 8 times in a row with piss all subs, we would’ve had UCL possibly.
-
Finally finish above Man Utd. Now to hope Man City win fa cup next week.
-
Great. End the season with another miserable awful away performance then.
-
This is why Barnes was signed. So there’s still quality on LW, so he needs to step up today.
-
Absolute BS.
-
3. Trips is like Kalvin Phillips, keep him away from any action unless 3+ up God I hope we win.

Trafford needs some good seasons first, we can’t be the side that he learns on the job. Bazunu was rated as highly, had equally poor season in prem, then equally poor one in Championship. Got to be an aburdly exceptionally goalkeeper to be great at 21, otherwise it’s seasons making daft mistakes as you improve, and there’s no guarantee you do. Ramsdale at £15m on 5 year deal would make a lot of sense. Basically gives us a goalkeeper that’s still good, but 2 years down the line, if there’s an exceptional available, Ramsdale isn’t an expensive back up.
-
Depends what the situation is with Pope. If there’s genuine concerns about his future longevity, a goalkeeper went from not a priority at all in December, to a massive priority.
-
For me, it’s more protecting the players from unnecessary injuries. We’ve had a woeful season for injuries, and what do we do, piss off to other side of world straight after last game of season to play again 3 days later

TBF, playing late Sunday afternoon, then getting on plan at like 8pm for a 18 hour flight to Australia, to land at what, 12am Tuesday? Then get to hotel, adjust, light training on Tuesday PM seeing a proper cool down not been yet since Sunday, to then play next day in the evening. Then cool down on Thursday before getting plan back late afternoon/evening and being back home like Saturday morning? Not ideal for trying to avoid a muscle injury.
-
Can’t remember, but did he score final game last season and it was ruled out?
-
I only assume Ramsdale being linked is club feel he can come in and know the defence, coaching set up and overall team well straight away, whilst the Georgian one, despite the ability, there’s question marks on settling in/communication etc. that may be giving them cold feet. I’d rather the Georgian, we know what Ramsdale gives, whilst the other could be so far superior. Worth the gamble.
