  1. Why are they still going with the narrative that we need to contact Liverpool first That has never been a thing in transfers. If we bid for another striker today, that’s as good as us saying “let’s talk”, otherwise stance is the same and we need Liverpool to come to the play. Isak can’t be pissy at us, this is now all on Liverpool to make the play the reality is setting in that they need to pay £130m+ for a striker, where they’ve got one already who I bet is exceeding expectations and Slot is very impressed by in training.
  2. I’m as confident as I’ll ever be that we’ll do a proper job on Barcelona. Our pace will destroy their high line and our physical midfield will out fight them in the middle for the turnovers to enable the quick transitions. 4-2 us.
  3. We have in some ways because that’s been the message between the lines all summer. We’ve finally got the ticket striker in, and now it’s over to Liverpool. They either don’t make a bid and we do nothing more in striker search. Or they offer £130m+ which is closer to our terms, where it’s greeted in three ways. 1) flat out rejection, not for sale (be a ballsy move this as would indicate club want him back in the squad) or 2) rejected, but it’s worded that it’s not close to the terms we want I.e. structure / extra few million but a deal is there to be made, or 3) it’s accepted. I’d expect it to be number 2, and for it to come at some point today. That way, we can then work on the final striker signing and all parties have things done by Monday midday, meaning no made scramble up to final hours of deadline day.
  4. Been 1 hour since they have got a signing lined up, so got to move onto the next thing. Gittens joined this summer, and if you asked people in a few months time when did he join, vast majority would not say this summer.

Record singing got to take the number 9?
  6. We won’t sign a 2nd striker until Isak fee is agreed. We don’t have the room financially now to sign one, then potentially don’t sell Isak and end up with less in Jan / next season. We will want an Isak answer by close of play tomorrow, or we end up going right to the deadline day to get a replacement.
  7. What’s the odds Liverpool come back with £115m rising to £125m? Like a final cunts move. Just £5m more than previous offer.

Is it too late for him to be on bench Saturday?

If I remember correctly from Euros, he played with another striker didn’t he?
  10. Should still be £150m. Ball park £130m is bollocks, needs to be more for the damage it’s caused.

In which case I hope he’s like Haaland, who’s shite in the air for his height but lethal elsewhere.

The Larsen / Wissa deals in the mud. Or Isak does go and we go back in for one of them :/

He any good in the air for his height? Should score plenty with our crosses Two Germans this summer. When was last time we had two?

That’s a mental fee. Hope he’s the real deal.
  15. I don’t understand how people are saying it’s brutal When we’ve avoided many harder games from Pot 2/3/4. Could’ve been way worse with Atletico, Juventus, Napoli, Bilbao (A)
  16. Any of these now at home is another three points.
  17. That’s a twitchy away day. Hopefully in September when sun is still out.
  18. They’ve already got two English opponents.
