Need a positive result to nip all the shit talk that will come during the international break if we lose.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

Because they need rid of him, like they did with Sterling. If the offer was same, it would put Chalobah in driving seat if he wanted move and say accept it, or I'm staying and being disruptive. Chalobah wouldn't be just this season, it would be view for future seasons too. Schar is getting on, last year, and no guarantees he's here next season. Legs could drop off by then which make us uneasy to give him a deal, and he could want a 3 year deal which he can get elsewhere and hopefully not here. -
1/10 Considering start of May, club probably had in mind getting Freedman in, Tosin and a top RW, then needed to pivot to Guehi after Tosin went elsewhere, and likely wanted to move on a few players. We failed in all that. Got Kelly who will be a scrap back up defender, Osula who we won’t hardly see, and some Greek GK who won’t ever appear for us. On top of all that, we were a panicking mess come PSR deadline, which saw a promising player in Anderson needing to be sold in a dodgy deal which leaves us with that Greek goalkeeper for however many years his contract runs for, and losing Minteh who will forever be a what if, whilst we roll out the same RWs from the 2010s. Keeping likes of Bruno / Gordon / Isak shouldn’t be used to bump window rating up, when we didn’t face any serious bids for them.

They’ve had an active one, that’s for sure. Time will tell how good it’s been the outlay for players. Was only 3 years ago they had an amazing window bringing in Sancho, Varane and Ronaldo, costing £125m, and they’ve got £23m back for them.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

Why would it be a chunky loan fee when Chelsea wanted rid? Likely just covering his wages. With Chalobah, it’s more he’s potentially a future squad CB too. A loan we could’ve seen first hand if he was worth making a squad signing, who can play RB too. -
Wouldn’t he have been involved in Mitchell appointment after freedman pursuit, and needing to do the PSR business and Ashworth panic whilst Mitchell wasn’t in post? Or did that sit with someone else.
-
Probably a panic appointment, after failing with the Freedman approach. Needed to get someone in, has a reputation, no club, easier deal to make then get involved with trying to pry someone away from a club again. Think once dust settles, depending on what vision Yasir still has for the club, Eales could be the one that gets the chop.

We’ve signed Kelly, Osula and Greek Guy, who could all be the three you mentioned Club is in a completely different place to when we signed the ones you mentioned, and the ones that could’ve came in, are more the young cusp players. Like Rowe went for loan and £13m. We could’ve done that deal, shifted Miggy on for £5m just to get his wages off, and had Rowe be the fringe player that could develop, with the main RW signing coming next summer anyway. Same approach for CB. Instead went all in on one guy, and that’s it. Nickson must’ve had a a good portfolio of players, and it’s just been disregarded and some likely have moved elsewhere. Not even got another Minteh in the pipeline. Just proper shit all round.
-
Likely be repeating same about Kelly come 2027-28.
-
Some of his good deals at Bournemouth involved a loan. Ake and Harry Wilson to name two.
-
Chalobah on loan only, and that’s a deal we couldn’t do? Fuck me.
-
Can’t even get a fee of £1 for this guy. Actually having to pay him to go
-
Do hope the lack of a CB signing this window doesn’t see us now panic and give both Schar and Burn new deals. If we’re being honest, only one needs a deal, and since Kelly can cover LCB, it really should be Schar. Need to be ruthless more which we’re still not showing as a club.

Have to see things improve off the pitch by January IMO. On the pitch, different matter. Focus is all on backing team and hoping we have another memorable season, but they need to do some serious stuff off the pitch now because last 12 months has been shit like for a club that’s supposedly wanting to progress.
-
Journalists probably can’t find out because we’re literally not talking to anyone so there’s nothing to get from agents.
-
Surprised no club is making a play for Madueke. Guess most teams are holding off till January where Chelsea will be in even more of a pickle to get fees and players wanting out.
-
At this point, no club is selling a main player, unless it’s a daft offer. Just absolutely pointless us even asking if a club will sell, left it far too late if no serious ground work been put in.
-
Trying to sign any of these preferred targets to appease him because of the Guehi shit show?
-
Elanga. That really is a Howe player if I’ve ever seen one. Christ.
-
Agree with this all, just for me it’s frustration because the gap is there for us to claim top 4 and we’re not taking advantage it feels. No guarantees you spend and get it, but there’s an opening. Tune will change if come Sunday we win, and we can focus on season till January and hopefully be in a position where we can spend to really push home 2nd half.

Back in England fold and with u21s.
-
Blocked an outgoing Fuck sake, we never learn.
-
Do we still need to wait till 11pm before we criticise the window?
-
Whole point of securing Mitchell I thought, was signing the younger guys who are not quite there. With a good coach, they improve, and you are happy to sell a purple at max value because the guy below is ready to take next step. That’s how you make the strides forward within room IMO. Instead, it doesn’t seem like that. Like Osula is never stepping up anytime soon to replace Isak next season if we was the one going next summer, same for Bruno, same for Gordon. It would be a significant player gone, one needing to come in and hit ground running, and probably at a big fee with no guarantee.

Not one rumour today. Guys have accepted defeat and clocked off for the weekend.
