£50m + £10m I can see being more likely to work, aye. Although I suspect they'd push us for £55m + £5m if we offered the former.
-
Suspending my disbelief as it's Ryder, but £50m including add-ons seems low (relative to what Forest would want).
-
Akliouche, I hope. He's class, although would be more expensive than Elanga probably. That being said we could have more to spend now we don't need to put £60m towards Joao Pedro.

Chelsea fans are sharing this around in disgust
-
At least we get the excitement of a new target now... hopefully...

Only their amortisation function has been blocked. The deals are amortised across a max of five years regardless of contract length.

Could see us being interested at that amount or slightly less tbh I'd rather go for Scalvini though (allure of the unknown foreign player doing heavy lifting for me on this one as price would probably be similar enough)

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (playing for Leeds United)

Scared me seeing this bumped -
Exactly. People often laud Man City for walking away if they deem the valuation to be excessive.
-
Hopefully it works out as well for us this time as it did the first time.
-
Isn't it the opposite? Chelsea customers hate the club dealing with him because he always extracts maximum value from them.
-
And our negotiations likely ended long before the press/Parrish stopped milking it. (I also agree with the overall point)

From the BBC article about Brighton rejecting the bids: "The Blues see Pedro as a replacement for versatile forward Christopher Nkunku, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge despite his current involvement in the Club World Cup." Such lofty aspirations they have for him.
-
Monaco signing Pogba and Ansu Fati who can both play on the left/CAM. Possibly frees up Ben Seghir to leave? Seems like he can play as CAM/10/second striker/on the left. Could be an interesting more reasonably-priced alternative to Joao Pedro.
-
Insane that I already forgot about Delap Far too hard to keep up with Chelsea's signings. That leaves an even bigger question about where Joao Pedro would fit in there.
-
Aye, I think that's the crux of it for them. They want someone like Ekiteke or Gyokeres (or probably Isak). Pedro as a main striker signing would be underwhelming, probably even for us.
-
Just picking up on the same point a few others made earlier - it's absolutely hilarious seeing Chelsea fans' massively negative reaction to his potential signing. Wonder if he's reading any of it, or if he cares.

Time to call Xavi Simons's agent

Don't think he's played RW more than a few times in his career, we'll definitely be after a proper RW too
-
I was thinking that but now The Athletic is reporting it it's probably true
