And pretty good fee considering what was being bandied about for him earlier in the window
-
He was at the training ground in discussions with PIF representatives about buying the club
-
For £10m to Saudi hopefully
-
Selling Elanga for £55m and replacing him by spending £30m on a lad who was getting benched in the Eredivisie would have me fuming like
-
Struggle to imagine a higher offer coming from elsewhere, not sure it would be worth the risk to wait for one. Good move for him and would back him to do well there.

He is reliable, but he's a Forest journo with connections at the club so likely just pushing their line here

Only £52m base, Andy Howe masterclass

Well it took Elanga time but finally we've got our man
-
Wonder if that means Ross Wilson is coming here, although it looks like Edu is taking a different role to the one he has
-
Glad we get to remember Wilson fondly with him departing now - that's exactly what he deserves. Hope he finds himself a club on the big stage to give him a fat wedge to wind down his career at.

Paying £50m for Madueke is such an Arsenal thing to do. Thought their new DoF was meant to put an end to overpaying for Chelsea rejects

Another one who turned down Real Madrid and the Mags to come to us marra

Those defender compilations always end up being 99% hero sliding tackles for some reason Wish there was a channel that showed all the other aspects of players' games. Quite annoying when you're trying to get an idea about a player.

The Graun reckon it's a done deal at £55m although weirdly they've buried it in an article about Walker going to Burnley. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/jul/04/kyle-walker-shock-5m-transfer-burnley-manchester-city?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other "Meanwhile, Newcastle have agreed a £55m fee with Nottingham Forest for Anthony Elanga, with the winger set to complete a move to the Champions League side in the coming days. The winger’s personal terms are not thought to be an issue and the signing of the Sweden international will end a year-long pursuit by Eddie Howe. Newcastle tried to sign Elanga last summer but the Forest owner, Evangelos Marinakis, was adamant he would not be sold. A fee of £55m was seen as too good to refuse for a player the club purchased for £15m two seasons ago from Manchester United."

"Yes, it's the first name. I confirm. But the list is made up of other names too."

"NEWCASTLE UNITED will spend the weekend in discussions with Atalanta as they look to engineer a deal for centre-half Giorgio Scalvini. He is valued at around £40m by Atalanta, who appear to have accepted that they will be unable to hold on to him this summer. Newcastle officials are hoping to be able to push through a deal relatively quickly as they are aware of mounting competition from other clubs." I don't even rate Wilson's reliability that highly but I'm going to choose to believe this because I want it to happen

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cdx5qelx577o BBC reporting it (the "progress"/£55m bid) now. Interestingly they say: "Forest have indicated £55m is the fee they are seeking for Elanga"

ffs!
