  1. I think he's better than Gordon personally. He has more power in his shots and scores a few from distance, Gordon tends to be closer range finishes. I think he provides more than Gordon. How much more is debateable.
  2. I agree. It's Wissa for me. Then wait for Isak to sort his head out. Get through this season with the 2 then resolve the Isak situation next summer and hope there are better options available.
  3. I think so. Plus I don't think he'd work in our team.
  4. I wonder if we can structure a deal with a bit more guaranteed with add-ons based on if we requalify top 5 this season. Just to get somewhere in the vicinity of what they want
  5. We'll have to move for Jackson at a similar price point then in that case. Wissa is the better player but £60m on a 29 year old aint happening for us.
  6. This is the major dilemma now if he stays. And you can argue it both ways... we can't reward his behaviour with either a new contract OR a sale. It could set a dangerous precedent to the rest of the squad.
  7. The player can't make that demand though. They're making that demand now and the clubs telling them both to get back in their box. The release clause is their exactly for that reason, so both parties agree on what that agreed price should be.
  8. Yes and no. It protects the club in 2 ways to give him a new deal: 1- we insert a release clause for next summer meaning full value for us (also not having to worry about depreciation) 2- keeps him motivated this season and another 20+ goal season should see us back in top 2 tiers of Europe
  9. The geordie Maradona. Technically brilliant and the heart of a lion. What a tragedy we had to sell this lad.
  10. 100%. Clubs needs have to come first. Ultimately, we can give him more money this season and help faciliate a move next summer if we can't find a second striker before the end of the window (which seems likely given the current market)
  11. They play 1 up front with 2 wide, similar to us I'd say
  12. Plus, the reports are his camp have immediately shut down any talk of a new deal. Presumably because his agent wants his £10m payout and a contract renewal doesn't get him his money
  13. Got a feeling he's going to be really big for us this season
  14. Go on Jacob lad... make yourself an instant hero and score the winner against the scousers
  15. Isn't Thiago the Wissa replacement? Then Ouattara the Mbuemo replacement?
  16. He's not young but he is athletic. He's got good strength and is quite powerful which are two qualities you could see were absent from our attack yesterday. If he brings his form from last season his conversion efficiency was high level too.
  17. I don't think he fits our style at all. He's not particularly quick, has a weak shot (very rarely scores long range) and not great at holding up the ball. I think he works better in a slower league, just not convinced he'd work for us.
  18. Absolutely stupid rules. Hit us last year and no doubt will again in the future. The game is rigged.
  19. No. Just someone to meet their valuation.
  20. I saw 3 in Loughborough yesterday, not including myself. 1 Villa
  21. Watching us yesterday I would say we'd have won with either Wissa or Jackson starting
  22. I live in Nottingham. See loads of toon tops down here, never seen a mackem shirt yet. #tinpotclub
  23. Give this man a new long term contract
