  1. He's a Liverpool fan so of course he's been peddling the nonsense narrative that we should sell him on the cheap and just get in Nicolas Jackson. What an utter knob! What's really irked me about this saga is that people don't understand market value. Every Liverpool fan balks at the £150m value, but what they fail to understand is that we don't NEED to sell, therefore we'll only consider offers way above market value. The same way Chelsea don't need to sell Palmer. Others clubs probably value him around £100m, but because Chelsea don't need to sell him they'd probably only entertain offers above £200m. The entitlement of the Sky 6 is astounding. I wish they and their yank owners fucked off into the Super League tbh
  2. Surely Isak should wave the white flag next Friday if there's no progress rather than desperately wait till the final minutes of deadline day. At least then, he can save what little credibility he has left with the fans. 1. First he should sack his agent immediately. 2. Meet Eddie and the leadership group for "clear the air talks" 3. Apologise to teammates, Eddie and the fans in a statement outlining his renewed commitment to the club this season. 4. Club releases video of him and Osula doing some ridiculous dance in training. 5. Sign possible new contract with release clause next summer
  3. So when are we expecting movement, if any, on this transfer? There is essentially 1 week to go. I can't foresee a deal of this magnitude and complexity being hastily completed on deadline day, but who knows. So for this deal to have any chance of going through now, I feel like Liverpool are going to have to lodge their second bid, irrespective of whether our own striker search has been successful, by Wednesday/Thursday at the very latest. The idea of us signing 2 strikers within a week anyhow, seems beyond remote at this point. The tone of Eddie Howe's presser today also gave me the impression that he was preparing for Isak's reintegration into the squad. I'm also curious as to whether Liverpool will even bother with a second bid if the well reported "conditions for a sale" haven't been met. Let's face it, Isak needs Liverpool more than they need him at this point (strangely enough there seems to be little noise as to an alternative target for Liverpool if they are forced to pivot)
  4. I've enjoyed Liverpool fans meltdown since the club's statement. Out of entitlement they assumed that we'd eventually bend over and accept their lowball offer for Isak. Now they're in a situation where they are quite light up top with no plan B, especially when Salah flies off to afcon ( which could be the difference between winning or not winning the title) . Liverpool fans condensation of Newcastle in this saga is also a reflection of the gap between the two clubs getting smaller. We were zero threat to them 5 years ago, and they could easily poach our best players (Carroll, Wijnaldum, Enrique etc) Things have changed. We've just slapped them up in a Cup Final, are qualifying regularly for Champions League and are no longer bending over to their interests in our players. The gap is getting smaller, and they know it .
  5. Surely Isak will sack his agent if he doesn't get this move. First he negotiated a 6 year contract with no release clause, then he promises Isak he can double his money at Liverpool if he goes on strike. Now his reputation is in the bin and he's got nothing to show for it. Wouldn't surprise me if the Saudis no longer offer him improved terms just out of spite. Do not try and bully the Saudis when it comes to business, especially if you're some scummy nobody football agent.
  6. Anyone else feel like they've aged 10 years this summer?
  7. It will save us a lot of pain in the long term (not selling to Liverpool). i think the likes of Tonali would definitely think twice about downing tools to force a move after this summer. Sends a message to the septic 6 that we won't be bullied into selling our best players
  8. He can't afford to spend the whole season on strike or feigning injury. You really think clubs are still going to offer him £300k per week after spending a whole season on strike? He'll soon put his head down out of fear of missing out on future earnings
  9. The team talk writes itself for this match "Watch us beat these lot WITHOUT you tonight"
  10. I personally don't want Wissa after his carry on this summer. His and Isak's petulance should never be rewarded. Move on to another target.
  11. Considering this deal is dead, the best thing for him to do from a PR standpoint would be to unexpectedly start the game against Liverpool. He won't do that unfortunately, because he seems to be advised by the most incompetent football agent I've come across in a while.
  12. Of course he'll be crawling back. His carry on and refusal to hand in a transfer request shows he's highly motivated by money. He knows he'll have to bang 20+ goals again this season if he wants to get the 300k per week deal he feels entitled to next summer. No way clubs will offer him 300k per week next summer if he sulks and doesn't perform this season
  13. 100% channel our aggression towards Liverpool on Monday, not at Isak. Their entitlement this summer has been something else
  14. A massive tifo of Isak's Instagram statement template with Sir Bobby's "what is a club" quote would be fucking perfect for Monday night
  15. Massive tifo of Isak's Instagram statement template with Sir Bobby's "What is a Club" quote?
  16. This whole transfer window has really turned me off football. Has once again shown that this industry is just full of dickheads that have zero respect for the fans paying their salaries.
  17. I don't care at this rate. He can sulk in the reserves till January if he wants. One thing should be clear, we are NEVER selling him to Liverpool after their carry on this window.
  18. Isak still has a chance to turn this around. Sign a new contract this week, apologize, start in the Liverpool game and smash the scousers, all would be quickly forgotten then. None of that will sadly happen however.
  19. Ornstein, Jacobs and Romano have really gone cold on this "transfer" in the last week. Those nonces had been talking this move up nonstop for almost a month beforehand. You would suspect their sudden radio silence would suggest that even they are losing confidence in this deal being completed. Isak must be bricking it.
  20. I would only consider Jackson if it was a loan deal with an option to buy. Could insert a clause in whereby if he scores 15+ goals in the league then we'd buy him for £60m
  21. You're right. He did make most of his appearances for the Brighton reserve team. He did however make league and FA cup appearances for the senior team whilst they were a Premier League outfit. Point is, he was shite for them
