The whole "promise" argument makes no sense. Nobody is going to make an informal promise to a player that he can leave at the time of his choice to the club of his choice, for whatever transfer fee is offered, and whatever the situation is at the club with regard to replacements. It seems like Isak told Eddie (or Mitchell or Stavely or Ashworth or whoever) that he wanted to leave and whoever it was probably said something noncommittal like "Ok, we'll see what we can do" and he took it as an ironclad unconditional promise.

Was he registered for Frankfurt for this season? Liverpool signed him a month ago.

I've wondered this too. Swap Isak for Ekitike + cash seems like a straightforward solution. Is there some rule against it?

Why did we have to give him such a long contract? Did we have to match the one Forest gave him? Why did they give him such a long contract?

My view on Pards is yeah, he was mostly crap, but we've have enough even worse managers (Souness, Kinnear, McClaren, Bruce) that he ends up looking not so bad in comparison, and did at least provide some some good moments (finishing 5th, some memorable wins) and some funny moments (getting in fights with people), and at least seems proud of his association with us.

He'll have a sit down with Eddie and Bruno and work it out. Transfer next summer.

Yeah, we've managed it very badly.

I'm ok with it now if we get a decent fee. He gets injured a lot and it's very possible he stays, keeps getting injured, and we look back and wish we had sold him while his stock was high.

If Brentford can play hardball and tell Wissa "tough shit", why can't we do the same with Isak?
