  1. This new Champions League format is shite. I’ve tried to enjoy it but still can’t accept that everyone plays in the same league but you all play different teams. It also just majorly benefits the bigger teams, of course. Do those dropping out at this stage go into the Europa League still?
  2. My first paragraph points out that Howe clearly can’t rate him highly if he is limited to 5 minutes every couple of games. My second paragraph points out we received an offer for him in the summer and should have taken it, which would provide some incoming funds as well as removing his wage from the wagebill without any impact on our results due to how little he is featuring or achieving any impact. I’m not sure what the other ramblings in your post refer to. You seem to have tied yourself in knots when you could have just acknowledged we received an offer and your original post was therefore inaccurate.
  3. The value Howe holds in him is currently our 4th choice RW. How much more money do you expect to get for a soon to be 31 year old 4th choice RW with a very limited G/A rate? In my scenario, we take the money Charlotte offered us as well as lose his wage off the wagebill without any impact on our results on the pitch. Doesn’t seem too far fetched.
  4. What value do you think we should hold out for?
  5. You said: I was just pointing out, we did receive an offer for Miggy. To be honest, anything with any monetary value would be worth taking for him as at the moment he’s just a complete waste of a wage. We’re not going to get offered anything more than they did. When we barely spent a penny all summer and seemingly had £60m to throw about, we could sell him for 50p and manage to find an upgrade of a replacement.
  6. We had an offer for Miggy and chose to reject it.
  7. The female commentator on TNT is atrocious. ”Usually watching European games, VAR is quietly in the background” on a legitimately good decision which the referee gave without VAR intervening. So glad he gave that, perfect decision. Mings shit himself when he was being closed down and tried to get away with it, knew exactly what he was doing.
  8. Only a matter of time until he turns into Nile Ranger at this point. Hope he never plays for us again.
  9. Will have to come up with other amendments until it’s deemed legal and passes through. You’d expect the clubs* have been involved in these amendments being suggested though which would almost guarantee safe passage through. It’d make no sense for the Premier League to turn up without consulting. *Man Utd, Arsenal, Liverpool and anyone else Man Utd chose to let in
  10. Their investment has already increased in value. If they built a new stadium, it’d increase even more. Tottenham are estimated to be worth £2.6bn currently. Before the new stadium? £1bn. Of course there is inflation and everything else at play but during that time Tottenham haven’t really been successful at all. If we had a new stadium and were regularly competing in the Champions League, regardless of winning anything and “going for gold”, PIF won’t need to worry too much about their investment. In terms of the general conversation, I’d move from SJP in a heartbeat but the location must be right. If they can find a way to nudge us into Leazes Park with a 70k stadium, I don’t see how anyone could have any complaints to be honest. Football is no longer about stadiums with character, culture etc. if we’re too sentimental we’ll never move forward.
  11. Lets see how he fairs at a smaller club with worse players than currently at his disposal. Gyokeres with more goals already this season than Hojlund will get in the whole of last season and this combined
  12. Whilst Dan Ashworth is a disgraceful human being who deserves public humiliation, I do love the expectation that DoFs and Managers have to have an impossibly perfect transfer record in football. I don’t think anyone has ever achieved that feat, but it’s always how their abilities are assessed as a baseline. One bad judgement? You’ll never hear the end of it.
  13. Roma are a complete basket case these days, aren’t they? Are these not the same people who Everton believe are their great saviours? Or was that a different version of their takeovers?
  14. He’s being kept around because he’s English/homegrown, cheap and can follow instructions, although with very limited execution most of the time. I can just about cope with that. I wouldn’t object to him coming on for the last 10-15 minutes to see out a game or give players like Tonali a rest. Howe has just had a full season to work with Tonali. If people are suggesting he still can’t follow instructions as well as Longstaff, there is something terribly amiss with our star signing or coaching methods.
  15. At least if we’re promoted we can sell the Women’s team to ourself for £80m rather than Isak to Arsenal. Another year sorted. Just need to build a hotel now for 2025/26.
  16. Spotted the issue. Ordered a Tory burger at somewhere like Salisbury.
  17. Does it truly benefit the team? Last season we were dreadful defensively and Longstaff was a major factor in that. If we’re using a sample size of 6 games to say Longstaff contributes more, why are we ignoring the rest of his career that suggests he’s a very average bottom half PL player who has the occasional purple patch or game in him.
  18. What job does Longstaff do that the team needs that Tonali hasn’t or couldn’t? I’m not sure the above stats show too much difference other than Tonali is miles better with the ball as they are instructed to play in different ways by Howe. If you asked Tonali to play more defensively, I’m not sure you’d see that much difference in those defensive stats.
  19. Personally think it’s absolutely bonkers that people are seriously suggesting Longstaff should start ahead of Tonali, in any match, because he’s perceived to have an “engine”. Makes as much sense as selling Isak and buying Delap because he would “put himself about”. Might as well sell Bruno and get Oliver Skipp in too.

    Joe Willock

As I’m a mere mortal and not an uber statshagger, why are these stats only from 1-68 minutes for us and 1-64 for Arsenal? Feel like just ignoring a quarter of the match is a bit odd.
  21. Him turning up to work with that bizarre grin on his face whilst his reign was very publicly coming to an end was another high point. Some dreadful memories from that season. The Norwich away game was a killer. Should’ve won it with a Cisse chance towards the end at 2-2 and then they scored with almost the last kick seconds later. 90 seconds of football that ultimately sealed our fate.
  22. Nobody can convince me that Keane Lewis-Potter will ever be a Premier League footballer.
  23. 12th in 1994/95. Were last relegated in 1912/13. Everything to suggest they could’ve finished bottom with less points than Derby if Arteta didn’t save them though.
