We've had encouragement from the player just as Liverpool has had from Isak. Doesn't mean the club will let the player go.

Brentford are playing us like a fiddle, most people have this summer. Putting in such a low offer can only mean that we are hoping that Wissa continues to spit out the dummy and drives the price down. Exactly the same as Isak is doing. Pay the 45m plus that it would take or walk away. The club remains a shambles off the pitch and soon on it if we don't buy at least one striker.

I'm not suggesting that Joe upfront is a permanent solution it's just in my opinion the best one at the moment.

The solution is staring at us and we are all too blind to see. We have a 40m striker already bought years ago who knows our system and who wouldn't need bedding in. The second great redemption story starts against Liverpool. You all know it makes sense, everyone is just too afraid to say it. Not me, big Joe it's your turn to shine and to show everyone that all the money we spent years ago was justified.

I can't believe people are suggesting we cave in and sell Isak to Liverpool. Firstly it would show that we had given in to player pressure which going forward would send a disastrous precedent. Tonali, Hall, Tino, Bruno all our better players would know that they could wiggle their way out If they got an interesting offer. Secondly we would be much weaker without Isak and signing Wissa is not going to alleviate that. Dropping out of the champions league positions is likely to mean all of the above is much more likely. Just tell him he's not leaving until next summer. Simple. Gives us a year to line up someone to replace him. Should be enough time even for us.

Salary bump.

I can't imagine that Ramsey really wants to come here unless we are giving him a big salary bummer. Then again im sure Anderson didn't want to leave and go to Forest. Football is so fucked.

Rumour has it he's not wildly keen on going to Liverpool unless he's guaranteed to start which i imagine he's not.

I'd throw in a 40m bid for Guehi and force Liverpool to react, if they don't maybe he'll sign for us as Palace know that they need to sell him this window.

If Isak goes to Liverpool absolutely he will improve them to the extent that they will be pretty much untouchable in the premier league and favourites for the champions league. We will be weaker and no combination of Wissa, Jackson or similar will strengthen us. It also as has been mentioned opens the door to Tonali leaving for Man Utd, offer likely incoming, Bruno and Tino to City, Gordon to Liverpool etc etc. And that would be the end of this phase of PIF and it wouldn't have been the roaring success that we all hoped for. IMO of course.

Don’t like the sound of this and don’t understand it. Eddie saying this just encourages Liverpool to make another low ball offer as apparently we can’t stop him leaving.

Eddie shouldn’t be sacked but there’s a reason he’s employed as head coach and not manager. He’s not to blame for the lack of direction from above him that’s on PIF, however if he’s the one who has been de facto in charge of player recruitment, he should never be allowed to do it again. The elephant in the room indeed.

Maybe we should make an offer for Hojlund. He's cheap, young and as everyone on here keeps saying Eddie improves players.

If we sell Isak it's definitely the end of the very few public promises that PIF made when they bought the club. You don't sell your best player to a club that you are hoping to compete with especially when you don't need to. It's very hard to imagine that we won't be a much poorer team without him, whether we get Sesko and Wissa or not. Could be wrong though.

I know that clubs are not meant to tap up players but surely before you start negotiating with the club you find out by hook or by crook either from the player or their agent, the only thing that matters, are you open to signing for NUFC for a contract of x amount of years at x amount a week. Does Guehi want to sign for us if we can do a deal with Palace? Nothing else matters does it?
