  1. Thiaw has also played as a DM in his career apparently. Probably not the game to try an experiment like that but his pace, physicality and passing would definitely be an asset there if the manager ever decided to use him that way.
  2. He’s going to get pelters which usually ends up in them getting the hump. Be interesting to see if Howe is asked about it as a reminded of that error through the media may also sway him the other way?
  3. Bigi is still only 31 but he’s now playing in Northern Ireland for a senior professional club.
  4. That break in the game when he hesitated, it looked like he didn’t have confidence in his fitness to blitz past which is basically his strongest attribute, is it possible he’s not quite fully fit or carrying a slight knock? But then at the same time we just don't look strong at the moment. We were bullied off the ball so many times, always taking that extra touch into trouble.
  5. His thread is still very seldom posted in but they thought his minutes for Sweden will have done him the world of good 😂
  6. Aye feels dirty but my hatred for the dippers far outweighs Man Utd, for the moment anyways. Fuck Isak, fuck Slot and fuck Liverpool and everything in it.
  7. Man Utd are surrender monkeys at this point.
  8. Why has Zirkzee got a breathing plaster strip over his nose when he’s just sitting on the bench? 😂
  9. The closer to 60 mins it goes his likelihood of doing out is dissipating. Glorious. As much as I hate him, I hate Liverpool more.. it’s great hearing the fewm when they have players standing on the ball and nobody making themselves available. Slot is definitely not all he’s made up to be.

I work at the planning stages of large scale residential/commercial construction and when a tender goes in there’s always a specification of what the client wants. (Not just, gimme a price for an 80k seat stadium Bob) For example, this is the land available and where its situated (this is important as access (or restrictions) is a massive part of pre planning and can drastically increase the scope. We know there has been some discussions with the Freemen regarding a certain area. But nothing agreed as yet, so it’s very unlikely they’d be looking for indicative prices. They’ll know what their budget is and ask a developer to deliver what they want within that budget. When reviewing submissions, not always the cheapest quote is the successful bid. Developers will have a teams who just work on tenders which can include the cv’s of the personnel involved as well as examples of their previous similar projects. But we’re nowhere near developer stage yet. Once a site is acquired, they will engage with an architect. Who will list off any and all surveys required before a go ahead can be given. The club will decide after advice whether to go with “Build by Design” or “Design and Build” - in plain speak the first is an Architect designs it and then hands over to a developer. The second is an architect brought in and working with/by the developer at the project commences. This would be the work involved and then have to be reviewed and collated before any boots on the ground ever happens. It would be all over the place. Realistically, I believe the club when they say no decision has been made yet, I’d say land is being negotiated with the freemen and once there’s an agreement in principal they’ll engage with an Architect and then a wider design team and at that point the surveys will commence. This is a long one but it’s comprehensive and will hopefully not piss on anyone’s chips but just give a dose of reality to where this one probably sits.
  11. It’ll be interesting to see what the vibe is like if we end up losing the derby. Not until December though so you’d hope the form has improved by then.
  12. Would Pep or Arteta be more successful with our squad? Hard to tell, certainly Pep has the pedigree. On the flip side, would Howe make Man City or Arsenal better or worse if he was there? City have spent comparable amounts to us recently on some players who just look better and more comfortable with the ball. Better scouting or better coaching?
  13. You think he’s a better manager than Pep and Arteta? I think he’s a solid top 6 of managers in the league.. you could argue that he’s top 3 but our league positions don’t add weight to that.
  14. Where do you rank Howe in terms of current PL managers?
  15. As long as Gordon is here regardless of his form, Barnes will be on the bench. 55m for Elanga looks terrible business. I ageee Ramsey has potential but he’s a luxury player when the rest of the team is this dysfunctional (at this time). No idea he knows what his strongest team is if or when everyone is fit?
  16. Barnes has been on the bench more than he’s started games. 40m. Elanga is looking like a copy/paste of that if his form continues. Ramsey we haven’t seen much but we all know Howe will persist with Joelinton if he declares himself fit.
  17. Our only 2 wins this season have been against teams that will likely get relegated.
  18. I get the argument, but those are leading questions. No one’s saying Howe is at fault for that but he’s still accountable for how the team responds on the pitch. The players we have had starting have almost all regressed, he chooses players bang out of form and some of our bigger signings just don’t look a great fit for the team. Who else is to blame for that? He’s coaching them every week so he should be able to see Joelinton is a liability at this point. He should have seen from last season that Trippier can’t run anymore. He should have seen that having no backup to Hall at left back would leave Burn open to weekly bummings if he had to step in. Bruno looks fucked half the time and he’s never had the legs to cover the ground that’s required of the way we’re tactically set up, defensively at least. And when he lashes out 40m on players like Barnes and Ramsey, there should be a reason for it.
  19. We had a better start to last season despite poor losses to Fulham and then Brighton at home. But again patchy. It’s not about instant gratification but you’d expect after another season that he’d have fixed some of those problems from last season. We had some horrific performances against beatable teams last year (Brentford, Villa, Bournemouth - shipped 12 goals in those 3 games) Yes we have come a long way since the Mike Ashley days, but if you stop to admire it, you stand still and either get left further behind or those underneath catch up. Yes overall over 4 years he’s been great, but when things aren’t good he shouldn’t be immune from criticism.

    Nick Woltemade

Wolt and Thiaw so far the only good business we’ve done this summer.
  21. Thays exactly my point though. He’s consistently inconsistent. Well never forge on in the league if that keeps happening season after season.
