Berbatov looked miserable as fuck last night like.

Bad attitude from a player who could possibly pull his team out of the shit.

When its against you, Berbatov doesn't show. I've had enough of those types of characters at SJP to last me a lifetime, and people have a nerve to call Anelka, this guy is by far worse.

Good player, great on his day, but for me considering how much he'd cost, one we can do without.

bullshit. he's still at spurs, i think 9.5/10 players in his position would be at manu now, but berb always said he'd stay at spurs. loyal player and seems like a really really top bloke. how many clubs has berb thrown a hissy fit at and left? none. to say he's worse than anelka is just so insane i can't even quantise it. how many spurs players have shown up this season exactly? keane and bale are the only ones i can think of. we've seen 9 games of berb playing in a team that isn't showing (and he also didn't start against derby and us). lets wait till the season is over before we start making judgements on his personality type, anelka has had 6 years to show us what a cunt he is.

TT has a point though, when your team is in trouble you look to your better players to try and pull you out of it or provide some inspiration and fight. Berbatov hasn't been that kind of player for them and the signs aren't good. Someone pointed out that last season he only scored once against a top 10 side. It wouldn't surprise me if that is true, he doesn't seem to produce in big games or when the chips are down and the team are struggling.

He's a very talented player but he flatters to deceive an awful lot. Delicate touches and flicks are not always the answer, he needs to be more direct IMO, he could be a lot more dangerous than he is.

Berbatov stalling on a new contract apparently. Out of contract summer 2009. So at the end of this season spurs may well be willing to sell if he still hasn't signed instead of risking losing him on a free. Hell the lad clearly isn't happy there they may sell earlier (although i doubt this). I don't know why he's unhappy but he clearly is....enter Big Sam because if anyone can sort him out, he probably can. If Toon are the team he supported as a lad it may hold some weight with him. Get Shearer (his idol) in on the talks too!

We may get him cheaper too as his stock has fallen this season. I'm sure there will be bigger clubs after him too but we should definately try as would surely be a welcome addition to our squad.

Harry: Get Berbatov out

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_2823374,00.html

Under-fire Tottenham Hotspur manager Martin Jol would be "better off without" Dimitar Berbatov, according to Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp.

The Bulgarian striker made a big impact in his debut season at White Hart Lane last season, scoring 23 goals.

But Spurs' poor start to the new campaign has left Jol on the brink of unemployment and, Redknapp says, brought out the worst in Berbatov.

The former Bayer Leverkusen striker appeared reluctant to come on as a substitute in the Londoners' 3-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Monday, and Redknapp is clear in his stance.

Advice

"The very last thing Martin Jol needs right now is Dimitar Berbatov spitting his dummy out because he's not in Tottenham's starting team every week," Redknapp said in his column in the Sun.

"You only find out the true character of your players when the chips are down and the pressure is on.

"And we all saw what Berbatov is made of when he was sat sulking on the bench at Newcastle the other night with a face like a big baby.

"Everyone knows what a terrific player the Bulgarian can be. But he's not the striker he was a year ago and, from what I've seen, he looks to be disinterested and playing for himself rather than his team.

"His attitude is terrible and his behaviour at St James' Park sent out all the wrong signals."

Future

The 26-year-old front man had been linked with a move to Old Trafford over the summer, but Redknapp believes Berbatov has blown any chance of a transfer to the champions now.

"Maybe he's sulking because he didn't get a move to Manchester United in the summer," Redknapp added.

"But he's done himself absolutely no favours on that account because I know for a fact Alex Ferguson would never stand for any player who behaves the way Berbatov has done this week.

"When your team is in trouble you need the big characters to stand up.

"That's just what Robbie Keane has done for Spurs and Berbatov should show the same attitude. I have always believed that when you lose a player's support you get him out as quickly as possible.

"No matter how good, you're better off without him."

Spurs play Getafe in the Uefa Cup on Thursday evening and it will be interesting to see if Jol heeds Redknapp's words.

Berb has been very poor this season he is nowhere near the player he was last season but I would love to see Spurs put him in Jan window, we could out Shola and sign the Berb.

Owen,Martins, Viduka, Berb four cracking strikers.

Jol' has to play Bent after Spuds payed such a shocking amount for him, when a club pays £16 mill for a player they expect the manager to use him, and with Keane scoring goals Jol has to drop Berb to play Bent and this make it even harder for Defoe to get a look in.

Its hard to keep four top strikers happy but if I was Berb I would be mega pissed off at being dropped for Bent, Berb was their starlet last season and I am sure it was not a one off season for him.

Bent is a fucking shit one dimensional donkey that cost more than Henry. No wonder Berbatov is pissed off.

TBF i'd have Berbatov here in a flash. People can say he's petulant but thats what man management is about, taking care of those players that need guidance when the going gets tough. Do people really think he would have behaved like this had Alex Ferguson been his manager?

I'm not defending his behaviour but just looking at the bigger picture, it's up to the manager to command respect from his players. If he was here, i couldn't see Sam letting him behave like that, nor him behaving like that in the first place.

Talented player, i wouldn't turn him down because of one strop.

Jol does seem to struggle with players with a slight attitude problem, he had the same with Mido and now Defoe is out in the cold and Berb seems to be heading the same way.

Forgot to add that Jol should tell old fkn slobbery chops to fk off and keep his drooping mush out of Spurs business!!

Berbatov 'wants to leave', says dad

Dimitar Berbatov's Spurs future appeared even less certain last night after his father claimed the Bulgarian ace wants to quit White Hart Lane.

Berbatov held talks with Spurs sporting director Damien Comolli on Monday in a bid to clarify his position at the club.

Tottenham maintain that Berbatov is committed to the club and new boss Juande Ramos and that he has a long-term contract. But that stance appeared to be contradicted after the forward's father, Ivan flew to London after telling Bulgarian television that his son did not want to stay in north London.

Berbatov senior said: "My son doesn't feel happy at Tottenham any more. He wants to leave."

The striker's father and the player's agent, Emil Dantchev, then left Sofia to fly to London for more talks with Spurs hierarchy.

Sources close to the striker added: "Dimitar is telling everybody that he doesn't want to stay and would like to leave in January."

"He feels that he made a mistake in the summer by not asking the club to sell him when Manchester United were interested."

Berbatov was left out of the starting side at Middlesbrough on Saturday, although he came on in the second period.
