Guest FlapjackJoe
Whatever happened to Suddouk Al Haj, Abdul Rahman Bukhari and Mohammed Gabbas (the lads that won the SoccaStars competition)? http://www.nufc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10278~722462,00.html I don't think any of them even made an appearance for the academy team... Yorkie
That was probably just a marketing ploy. I'd have had a shot at winning it...
Tooj
That was probably just a marketing ploy. I'd have had a shot at winning it... It may have clashed with your Subbuteo commitments though.

Thespence
Every time I think of them lads, I think of the Running Man when Damon Killian is talking about last seasons winners & shows a happy picture of them & then Arnie finds the lads later in the film & they are dead in a room. But enough of that, I posted a thread about this on July 07, 2007, 08:11:35 PM (Must be a July sort of question) http://www.newcastle-online.com/nufcforum/index.php?topic=42416.msg905710#msg905710

Newcastle Fan
I actually took part in it, the guys who finished above me were amazing, one of them actually won it but was told he was too old for the academy (was about 18 back then) Anyway those 3 have been released..back to their local clubs now.. Pwn? He's dead on tbh. As much as you're daft at times Yorkie, i do hate it when people say 'pwn' when there blatantly isnt one. That was at best a reasonable comeback and nothing else. Its as though saying it makes it true, which is unfortunately how a lot of people treat their opinions.

These sort of signings were typical of the board we had back then, signing young players no one else had heard of or wanted, rather than backing the manager.
