Guest
I thought he was excellent first half. Kept the ball really well and always looked dangerous. Disappeared second half with everyone else. Seriously Dave, where has his good games been? Man Utd ? Villa? Other than that he's quite bad. I've seen his games and generally Jonas is terrible. Discuss. Best player on the park against Bolton. madras
Aye I thought him and Charlie caused them loads of bother first half until Jonas got switched into the centre and was told not to attack. thought charlie done his usual "busy but ineffective" routine today/ at least two occasions today in the first half half when geremi had the ball in space....looked wide left only to find charles sprinting at him then away into bizzarre positions
Guest BooBoo
I thought he was excellent first half. Kept the ball really well and always looked dangerous. Disappeared second half with everyone else. I just think we have to accept as match going folk that Jonas is deperatrly average. No ammount of message board hype will build him up above anything than medicre.

Still our best winger since Solano & Robert mind...although that's not saying much for Milner, Duff & N'Zogbia.

Dave
It's difficult to argue in his favour because as we all know he rarely actually produces goals and assists. I think he's a good player, and I'll just leave it at that.
johnnypd
he's like Dyer but with tracking back. all about pace, running and opening up space for others. can be useful if you have the players to take advantage of that.

Greg
How dare he only get one assist today! Granted he didn't have the best of games in the second half but who did? And he was playing out of position. I'd actually agree that his end product has not been as good as I'd hoped but he had a decent first half today. spizz energi
I'm too busy looking at his long shiny lovely hair to notice his football skills
Guest Heneage
The fact he got one assist when he had a poor game says alot, maybe if he wasn't the sole creative force in the team.
Guest firetotheworks
I dont see anything to pick at that much with Jonas, hes a constant threat and you can see that the opposition play in a certain way because of that. Thats a enough for me.
samag
What is clear he looks lost in the centre of midfield. We need to keep him out wide. Thought he looked good in the first half.
Gallowgate Toon
Looks much fitter not than he has done, which is what he needs for his game, today on the wing he was excellent, and he's already got some assissts atm so end product shouldn't be questioned, his ball today was superb. He now looks to run more too which i like, perhaps he was just playing safe after injury but i'm glad he's gone back to his direct self.
Syrette
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11827_4605670,00.html Mallorca seek Jonas compensation Tribunal date with Magpies set for February Real Mallorca and Newcastle will settle their differences regarding Jonas Gutierrez at a New Year tribunal. The Spanish outfit are seeking £12million in compensation following the Argentine's contentious switch to St James' Park over the summer. The South American playmaker utilised Fifa's controversial Article 17 in order to complete the deal. That ruling enables any player between the age of 23 and 28 to buy out their contract if they have been at the same club for three years or more. However, Mallorca claim they have been left out of pocket and want reimbursing. The Primera Liga side insist they had struck an £8million deal with Newcastle's Premier League rivals Portsmouth prior to Gutierrez's move to the North East. As a result, Mallorca are hoping an out-of-court settlement can be agreed which will see them suitably rewarded. Despite the issue having dragged on for some time the man at the centre of the ordeal, Gutierrez, remains unfazed. He said: "I have not committed any illegal action because Fifa allow players to break a deal if they have been at a club for three years and are of a certain age." I don't see what we've done wrong here. Hope we win in court and don't give them anything as a settlement.
Segun Oluwaniyi
Regardless of the specifics of are situation, that is a terrible terrible rule for football. Through this, couldn't the likes of Oba, N'Zogbia and Taylor just buy out of their contracts at the end of the year?
JH
It's not our fucking fault. He bought himself out of his contract and left. We simply signed a player we believed to be out of contract. It should be Jonas they sue, not that they'd win either way.
thenige
FFS I've read some shite on these forums but to say Jonas is like Daniel Cordone takes some beating. It doesn't help our CM's are amongst the worst in the league. At least he tries and can create space by beating players. His assist was cracking as well. Mentalists on here. AyeDubbleYoo
Still early days for the lad, no? He was in brilliant form before he got injured and he hasn't exactly been playing in a world-beating side.
