Why would cancelling a press conference mean we've sold Carroll? ???

Exactly... hopefully it means we are too busy trying to tie up other deals (A.N.Other player and Enriques new deal).

As far as AC goes, we hold all the cards - we have what they want, and we don't want/need to sell him right now, and the player doesn't want to go.

A N other as there is no hurry to tie enrique down before 11pm.

f*** - this is too soon - lets hope he does not want to leave

He doesn't. Search up his latest interview in the chronicle.

I know he wants to stay here BUT lets hope even if a bid is accepted he refuses to talk to Liverpool

Would hate to see him playing for them

theres obviously something happening

while pardew directy wont be involved with transfers and the dealing and negotiations, theres no point in there being a press conference when theres such speculation and the chance he will leave.

unless they are certain he wont leave then im sure things would of happened as usual, but its obvious liverpool will be making an improved bid, just depends how much

Andy Carroll will still be a Newcastle United player on Tuesday.

Friday however, the deal with Spurs will be finalised.

At this stage, it's about ambition.

Do we have the ambition to turn down a sizable wedge for a HOMEGROWN player who crucially DOES NOT WANT TO GO?

Or are we essentially a selling club?

That's a bit harsh. Every player has a price, if we let Carroll go for upwards of £35m, we're not exactly a 'selling club'
