Guest black n white
Why do some people assume that any money they spend on the club goes straight into Ashley's pocket? Is this based primarily on the fact that we don't seem to (net) spend much? Or, to be blunt, are you just making stuff up to suit your agenda? Where's the money gone then? It's gone where the £1.1bn Ashley has lost in the past 12 months has gone. How did you come to that conclusion if you dont mind me asking?

buzza
Ok, so he signs a couple of players in the window for 8 to 10 million, the masses will be placified...It is just the money he got from the Milner sale?? nobby_solano
hopefully it might be something along the lines of: 'as of the close of this window, we abandon our director of football transfer strategy, and are bringing in a new manager in time for next season who i will back with money and give full control of transfers'

Guest Brazilianbob
Ok, so he signs a couple of players in the window for 8 to 10 million, the masses will be placified...It is just the money he got from the Milner sale?? A leopard doesn-t change it-s spots!!!! Lets clarify the issue of what happened to the Milner money. He was sold to Villa for £12m yes? The usual method of buying players is the buying club pays half the fee up front and the balance over a period of time, possibly over the next 12 months, but I am not clear on this aspect. That means we received £6m and the dwarf went out and bought Xisco for £5.7m and brought in Gonzales on loan, so presumably the loan cost us £300,000. In my book that means we spent all of the Milner money actually received, it did not go into Ashley's back pocket period! Also, we should bear in mind that Leeds had insisted on a sell on clause when we bought Milner, so it seems to me that we are actually out of pocket having handed over whatever percentage Leeds were due. We did try to buy out the sell on clause for something like £2m prior to selling Milner but Bates refused. So it seem to me that out of the £12m fee at least £3m has gone to Leeds, £6m has gone on Xisco and Gonzales and the remaining £3m will be paid to us over a period as yet unknown. I think it is clear that the Milner money has to any appreciable extent been well and truly spent already, and is not nestling in what ever casino Ashley frequents. So we're being paid for Milner in instalments, but we paid for Xisco up front? Historically it's actually far more likely that a transaction with a European club will be done in instalments (over the period of the players contract) than with a club in the PL (it used to be a rule that all the money had to be paid within a certain time, 1 year I think, but I'm not sure if that's still the case). However, the fact that players are not paid for up front these days makes it even more frustrating how little we have spent.

It's up to Gutierrez to pay any compensation for one thing, not the club. It has nothing to do with us unless they can prove we were in contact with him before he terminated his contract and induced him to leave. If that were the case, he'd be banned for playing for 4 months and we'd be banned from making any transfers for 2 windows.

Happy Face
When he promised to speak in the new year his exact words were.... "I am the first to accept there have been times this season when you would have liked to have heard more from me direct, particularly at certain points. There have been reasons why I have not have been able to do that, but in the new year we will look to communicate with you more about what we are doing at St.James' Park, be it through the club's official website, programme and magazine as well as the wider media.” Good of him to accept it. Shame he's yet to do anything about it.

The more you criticise the ownership of the club the more I become convinced what a set of twats the NUSC are, last week you were trying to convince us that you werent anti-ashley, yet every post is...Anti-ashley. Im not pro-ashley im pro-NUFC and moaning about ashleys running of the club isnt goint to achieve anything. Your a twat and so are the rest of NUSC.
