Was a brilliant pen.

Still can't believe he was offside on all those free kicks... Such a brain dead clown.

He looks genuinely surprised when he hears the whistle, bless him.

Don't think he managed to get a shot on goal all game though he had plenty of efforts. Second half he did some decent wing play down the right, maybe trying to show Duff that it wasn't impossible. Full respect for taking that pen though. That took some courage.

First half turn and shot, but was a tame effort on his left foot, just rolled into Fulop's hands.

he had a lot of shots blocked by defenders as well. Too slow to get the shot off sometimes.

He did some good today, tbf, made some decent runs (true story!) and got into good positions (also true), but like the rest of them, he's seriously lacking in end product, in timing and in decision making. But he took the penalty very well, even though he looked nervous as fuck.

It is a fact that Ameobi is our penalty specialist. Check the stats. He's got a much better record of scoring penalties than Owen or Martins. I was almost confident when he stepped up to take it.

I wasn't confident at all...didn't dare to watch it actually! Glad he scored though but scares the hell out of me if he had missed it!

He runs slower than a 50 year old, he should have been brought off after 20 minutes but that's down to the manager, not him.

Runs slower but reacts even slower than a god damn dead person! He's so hard to play through when he's just standing still and doing nothing. Feeling sorry for Jonas there...

Can't really believe that Shola has scored 50 goals for us! Just unbelievable. How many of them have come from pens? Not too many I guess but there muist be quite a few of those accident/fluke kinda goals he scored against City or who it was earlier this season

NUFC.com have the stats: -

Shola from the spot - 4 pens, 4 goals:

Nov 2004 v Norwich (h) LC

Apr 2006 v West Brom (h) PL

Oct 2006 v Bolton (h) PL

Jan 2009 v Mackems (h) PL

Ameobi also netted in the penalty shootout at home to Partizan Belgrade in the Champions League Qualifier.

As for friendlies, he converted his shootout efforts in Thailand and Hong Kong in the 2004 pre- season, but missed one away to Bray Wanderers in August 2005.
