cubaricho
Bramble, Boumsong, Rossi, the Caldwells, Orr, Tomasson and to a lesser extent Milner, Jenas and Parker. Were all "shit" for us/weren't given the chance, and now look at them. Theres something wrong about this club. Yeah, we treat them like shit so they lose all confidence and make silly mistakes. To be honest, we're the only ones that ever think these players are shit. We can just never get off their backs and end up creating this false sense of them being bad players. It'll happen with Colo and a few others next season as well.

Or, they've just not performed to their full capabilities due to us having shite managers since Bobby was sacked (with the exception of Keegan). Ronaldo
You only had to look at the rest of the defence for players far, far worse who got far less abuse

Ronaldo
You only had to look at the rest of the defence for players far, far worse who got far less abuse The likes of Boumsong and Hughes have found more success than Bramble after leaving this club. Hughes is a solid player who's 30 years old and has finally had 2 good seasons. 2 years ago he was considered poor to average, his ability is nowhere near Bramble's, he just reads the game well. I dont care how you paint it, Boumsong is the classic example of a defender who may perform well on the continent, but has absolutely no place in the premier league, and no english club will ever go near him again. Guest
Agree about Hughes. It was only a couple of years ago he was crap in a sh*t David O'Leary Villa side. As for Boumsong, he's had a year playing for Juventus (albeit in Serie B), has won his place back in the French squad and is playing regular Champions League football. I'm sure the fact a Premiership club would never touch him again doesn't give him too many sleepless nights.
brummie
Bramble in the past reminded me of Zat Knight. Solid defender, technically very good at times, basics of a very good player, but prone to those lack of concentration errors which undo all the good work. steve_69
Bramble dropped a couple of unbelievable clangers when he first joined Wigan, missing an easy clearance to leave the opposition attacker clear on goal. Bruce, being a top CB himself, obviously worked on his concentration and gave him the confidence he needed to be the defender we all knew he could be. Couple that with the fact that Wigan had an experienced, intelligent player in Paul Scharner playing alongside him, one of the league's best defensive midfielders in Palacios playing in front of him, and a group of patient understanding fans who didn't jump on his back after he made an error, and it seems he found the right club at the right time. Guest Stephen927
Very long road for him to go to get anywhere near the Mackems good books now. What was their opinion of them before yesterdays game? Been fairly solid for them hasn't he?

What was their opinion of them before yesterdays game? Been fairly solid for them hasn't he? Not sure about fans opinion, but on BBC Newcastle Total Sport, Gabbiadini and Bennett (when he's on) have been saying he's been a very solid player for them, with none of the mistakes he's been associated with in the past. No doubt they'll try and blame the ref for the card yesterday though.
