F*ck off Rugby

Do we get any income from this? :shifty:

Hope so, we wouldn't want a repeat of the Rod Stewart concert which ended up costing us money.

Well the RBU are talking about making more money by selling tickets for games played in football stadiums, so I doubt it.

Other way around IMO. Union is crap, all that fannying about on the floor.

League is an abomination of a game, only people in two counties in England and in Australia actually have much interest in it. The last league world cup proved once again what a minor sport it is. Union just offers so much more variety and is much more tactical than, the one dimensional League game.

Oh yes, kicking it backwards and forwards to each other for long periods of time is very entertaining. :dowie:

League will always be a minority sport despite their efforts to widen the net with the Superleague changes.

If you're not from Yorkshire, Lancashire, West Cumbria or Oz invariably you don't like it.

Absolute bollocks, kicking is part of the Union game but not everything.

As opposed to kicking it back to your mate three times, and then kicking it forward to the other team.

That sounds like Nicky Butt for us this season.

Union can often be boring, kicking back and to, endless scrum collapses and countless penalties.

Much prefer League, its tribal in nature as well, much the same as football, in fact the fan base is more working class than football these days, and obviously much more so than middle class union.

I support Warrington, just my luck to support the League team that has a great fan base, best away support, but has won nothing for over 30 years!  Sound familiar?

Not kicked though. It's five times too. ;)

Anyway, you all may have chance to take it in and decide for yourselves if the 'Magic Weekend' is moved to Newcastle in 2012 which is currently being discussed at the minute.

Dunno why they bother. From what highlights i saw Murrayfield was only half full. Best off having it at Old Trafford or something. No need to make fans travel further for normal league games either...bit of a waste of time.

Murrayfield was crap to be fair. I reckon Newcastle would be a decent option though.

FFS no one outside those counties to the immediate south and west of us, cares about the game in this country. When are they gonna learn not to try to expand it to areas that quite frankly don't give a toss. Look at the embarrassment of the test match at Chester le street for an indicator here. The only minor sport that has any sort of footing in the region is Rugby Union, the rest are just embarassingly undersupported. Football is king in the region and always will be.

Afar, people werent at the test on THursday as they were at work. Cricket is pretty big in the NE, s*** loads of teams.

There would have been a hell of a lot more people there had it been held at Old trafford, Egbaston, the Oval or just about any other place in the country. Test matches have started on a working day ever since there inception and rarely have crowds been as low as they were on Thursday.

Cricket just is not a passion for people in the north east. I actually really love the test game, and the ashes will certainly be the highlight of the summer for me but I got to admit it's not a game the north east has ever really taken to it's hearts. This whole test match is just an embarrassment to the North East I'm afraid.
