He's had a strange time since he signed for us and has been here during the turmoil that has existed since the departure of SBR. Jayson Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 Dont understand why he doesnt go for headers anymore. His legs have gone though basically, probably knows what he wants to do put cant do it. Has good intentions with his passing & often tries to take control of a situation, but usually stuffs it up because of that. Shouldnt be making the first team anymore. However one thing I will say about him is the fact that he doesn't hide, he tries to take responsibility and due to his character shoulders the burden of responsibility from his fellow midfielders who have no bottle and shouldn't be trying to take the game to the opposition. Guest Stephen927 Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 Might have had a better year if Keegan had decided to try again with his 4-3-3. Butt did well when he had two other centre mids with him who did most of the running and took more of an offensive responsibility leaving him to just sit and protect the back four. In a 4-4-2 because we don't have a good enough attacking midfielder to play alongside him he often finds himself the furthest man forward and doing far too much running.
