Pilko
Best is miles better.
Guest BlacknWhiteArmy
By the way, Lovenkrands has lost loads of his pace over the last 6-12 months. Really obvious when you watch him flounder about now. He's nippy over short distances still, but yes- certainly decreasing.
ponsaelius
Don't rate Best much higher than Lovelyhands tbh. Really?
Foluwashola
Don't rate Best much higher than Lovelyhands tbh. Really? For reals. Think if Best is ever in the starting XI for a long period, he'll be shown up for what he is. Hope I'm wrong, obviously.

Foluwashola
Depends what you class as "miles better" I suppose. Personally, would be incredibly surprised if Best is still playing in the Premier League in 2-3 years time.
Ronaldo
not Best and Ameobi since i find then too similar.
Pilko
In terms of ranking players out of 100 ala FIFA, I'd rate Best at about 71-72 and Lovenkrands at 64-65. To think that on the release of FIFA11, Carroll is 74 and Lovenkrands is 75.

Yorkie
I wouldn't say Best is significantly better than Lovenkrands, he just has a couple of different attributes which make him better suited to this league. I'd certainly say Lovenkrands is better with his movement. Best, however, has the physicality and enough pace to be more useful to us at the moment. Loven has lost a lot of pace as mentioned earlier, and is weak as piss. Lovenkrands would still get into just about all of the Championship sides i reckon. He'd score goals for any teams that create chances.
Punk77
Best is a better player individually: he got good technique, ok speed finishes, finishes with both feet and is strong in the air. Loven on the other hand got two extreme abilities : he's very good at beating the offside trap and making timely runs inside the box. If Loven is paired with a dynamic cm who's able to give him through balls I think he's capable of scoring surprisingly many goals.

He has to be able to get any chances before we can know for sure. 0 in 1 this season. He might be a 1 in 2 player.
Guest Stephen927
Not sure if Lovenkrands pace has decreased or if the pace of the defenders in this league just make him look slower than in the Championship.
Punk77
But Loven has been lethal against defenses that struggle to keep their line. Let us hope that Villa is as bad as last time..

Punk77
Hehe..Okey..not lethal then. But he's been solid.. Eg. WH, Bham and Wolves..

Yorkie
I keep forgetting that goals don't count against average-to-shit opposition.

Pilko
Only the Accrington goal was worth anything tangible. The rest of them you could disregard and we'd still have the same points tally.
Dave
Doesn't work like that.
Punk77
Doesn't work like that. Agreed. Silly us, his early goal against Bham wasn't significant at all. Didn't give us better space to play in, and neither did it give the lads needed composure in a difficult match. After all, Bham has been an easy opponent at home this season, with as many as two losses, before they met us.
Pilko
The point I'm trying to make is that he's not 'lethal' at all, not even against the shitter defences. Two games against Wigan showcases him missing a hatful of chances, and he was absolutely wank in the Accrington game, I don't think he had a kick other than his goal.
