quayside
Well it looks like he is coming. My dad has just got in from work, and his boss is selling his house, with the agent in the office to see him about it. He was on the phone to Sol Campbell sorting out a move in date. Proves nothing I'm afraid. His fiance lives up here and he's been planning on buying a house near Newcastle for a while. He as one http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,62264.240.html that was my point. I was basically rubbishing the post I would be surprised if Sol Campbell has bought Hallington Hall. It's a hotel. Maybe its where he is having his marriage or engagement party. Its not a hotel anymore, even their hotel website has gone. Guest The_Scoreboard
Two players for each position is standard for most clubs. 3 Keepers 4 fullbacks 4 centrebacks 4 wingers 4 central midfielders 4 strikers Thats 23 players, then you have maybe a couple of youngsters on the fringes and one or two utility players. I would thought everyone who's played football ( ) would know that. Do we have that then??
Dave
Yeah but Smith can be a forward, Barton can play on the wing and you forgot LuaLua. [/Mike]

GM
How do we know for sure he won't end u[ signing for Middlesborugh? Surely that's more likely, since he loves Southgate more than he loves himself?

Martin Lol
Don't know how true it is but.................. http://www.nottscounty-mad.co.uk/news/loadnews.asp?cid=TMNW&id=459053 Ex-England defender set to join? It has today been confirmed that Notts County are in talks with former Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, Portsmouth and England defender Sulzeer Campbell about a move to Meadow Lane. Campbell met with Sven Goran Eriksson and Peter Trembling last night for dinner and over the past couple of days the odds on Campbell joining the Magpies have tumbled to 6/4 on. Campbell has also been seen numerous times at Meadow Lane today, with fans milling around Meadow Lane due to the official opening of the new club shop and unveiling of the shirt. Cheers Glad to put your mind at ease.............. http://www.thisisnottscounty.co.uk/news/EXCLUSIVE-Sol-Campbell-talks-Notts-County/article-1273344-detail/article.html EXCLUSIVE: Sol Campbell in talks with Notts County Friday, August 21, 2009, 07:45 ENGLAND international Sol Campbell was last night in Nottingham locked in talks about a move to League Two Notts County. The former Tottenham, Arsenal and Portsmouth central defender met with director of football Sven Goran-Eriksson and executive chairman Peter Trembling at Hart's restaurant, in Standard Hill, in the city centre. He arrived at the hotel about at 7.15pm before the Post captured him walking across to the restaurant, with Eriksson yards behind. Trembling arrived minutes later before the group headed into a private meeting in the restaurant to discuss a deal. Campbell, a free agent, still harbours hopes of making England's World Cup squad for South Africa next year. That could prove the huge sticking point in any deal being struck, with other clubs in the Premiership, Championship and abroad chasing the signature of the star defender. But the 34-year-old has proved his interest in a move to League Two by travelling up to Nottingham for talks and to hear the ambitious vision of new Magpies owners Munto Finance. Campbell played for England under Eriksson during his whole reign as international manager and they formed a close relationship. And Eriksson is hopeful of pulling off the biggest deal for a player in the history of the world's oldest football league club by landing Campbell. But the defender wants time to think over what is likely to be the final move of his successful career. A Notts County spokesman declined to comment last night. Guest Stephen927
Was reading in the paper yesterday that Sol Campbell can run at 22.50mph, compared with Walcott (22.72mph), Torres (22.27mph) and Drogba (22.27mph). So if Sol did the 100m he would get roughly 10.1 seconds, a tenth slower than Usain Bolt. Not too shabby.
