Downing

 

Gerrard

 

Carroll

 

Not sure what he's going to get out of playing PJ at right back.

Move Gerrard back to CM and play Nolan behind Carroll :snod:

Andy Carroll might be the man who saves Downing's England career actually. Probably the best player we've got at just knocking the ball past the full back whipping crosses in.

 

Carroll converts more from the right hand side though.

Mainly down to the fact our right sided player is a crosser and left one's more a dribbler.

Maybe, but most players have a preferred side they are better at converting from. Robson once wrote that one of Shearer's best attributes was that he didn't have a side.
