Ste
We will top our group. Less sure of winning the trophy, I think it's Brazil or Argentinas.
JH
Problem is, if we qualify from the group and win the last 16 match, it'll most likely be Brazil or Spain in the quarters
Deuce
We will top our group. Less sure of winning the trophy, I think it's Brazil or Argentinas. It's a toss-up between you and the Italians, imo. And it'll probably come down to which team can cope with the heat better. Italy does have a tougher schedule too.
ElDiablo
Don't mind what happens as long as Hodgson sets up with the intention to attack and utilise the new found pace and dynamism in the squad. Can't be doing with another showing like against Italy in the Euros; hanging on only to fuck up penalties anyway.
Dave
Quarters at best, you only have to look at the potential opponents.
SEMTEX
It'll be quarters or third in group. The last 16 KO round looks doable.

Do we even advertise friendlies anymore? I swear the last half a dozen I've had no clue about until seeing it in the other games today thread or getting a txt asking if I'm going out for the match, "what match?" Tiresias
It's not a terrible decision, Sterling will presumably get a run out, may have a knock or something and it's just a friendly. Just surprising to see Welbeck feature at all I guess. He's usually played well for England, still would think Sterling will hook up with Sturridge better. Just surprising to see Welbeck feature at all I guess. He's usually played well for England, still would think Sterling will hook up with Sturridge better. That's my point. Unless he's got a knock, I see no reason not to be giving a good 60-70 minutes for that Liverpool connection to blossom in the national team. Just doesn't make sense. Welbeck does tend to play alright for England, that's true. But he really shouldn't be starting, especially after doing absolutely nothing to justify it at club level. joeyt
@DietmarHamann: Sterling and Barkley would go straight into Germany's team. They must have a chance getting into England's. Really?
