Mr. Snrub
Atletico drawing at home to Almeria. About the most inconsistent team in world football. Well, saying that, they've been consistently crap so far this season.
Village Idiot
Rather have Silva, we need a wide player, and he has more years in him. Abel (Atlético's manager) will probably get the boot soon, I reckon. Better now than later, I say.
Fugazi
Villa scores his 5th in 4 (same as Cronaldo) but Valencia go down 2-1 to Getafe at half time. Has Messi got 5 in 3?
1878
4-0 Nick Barmby, Phil Brown.... er... the Housemartins... your boys took one hell of a beating.
Village Idiot
Messi has 5 in 3, yes. If either Villa, Cronaldo or Messi keep something close to that average, they are going to blow the 50+ years old La Liga goalscoring record (38, although in 30 matches)
S.S.R.
http://i37.tinypic.com/2na41ea.jpg Crouch scores a headed goal. Looks shocked.
Thespence
Getafe V Valencia is a brilliant game all out attacking by both teams. Fucking brilliant end to end stuff.

1878
BBC's highlights are fucking dreadful. Three boring 1-0's as the main games, rubbish analysis & not enough play shown. Why do we pay for this?
madras
BBC's highlights are f***ing dreadful. Three boring 1-0's as the main games, rubbish analysis & not enough play shown. Why do we pay for this? because thats the way its been done by all channels for years now. its not show the best game,it's show the biggest team. Village Idiot
Getafe V Valencia is a brilliant game all out attacking by both teams. f***ing brilliant end to end stuff. They barely avoided relegation last year, but their start of the season has been very impressive and not in a flukey way, but playing very very nicely. They could have easily got in front when Barça played them a couple weeks ago. Let's see if they can keep that up. For now, they offed Valencia 3-1. Also, with Bilbao's defeat today 1-0 against Tenerife, Barça and Real are already the only teams with a 100% record.
Neil
Lol@jooPhilBrown. 11 goals in 4 games. Chuckle.
Village Idiot
Valencia's chairman has come out and said that Unai Emery's post as manager is not under threat, which in Spain it usually means it is.
Mr. Snrub
They should never have sacked Quique Sanchez Flores.
Fugazi
Just started watching Nigeria/Venezuela in the Under-20s World Cup (Eurosport). Been a decent enough start, end-to-end.
Frazzle
How come England are never in these U20 tournaments? Don't enter? Or just not good enough?

Frazzle
So we are! Hadn't realised. Obviously no Wilshere etc. then.
Village Idiot
I think in England is up to the clubs to release players while in most others (like Spain) it's mandatory. So any half-decent player won't make your squad. Atlético Madrid lost their first choice goalkeeper for the tournament! (And Barça had to release Bojan even though he's recovering from injury)

I ahven't seen loads of Atletico but he always looked a decent enough keeper, good enough for a Europa cup challenging team anyway.
Village Idiot
Atlético offered him a worse contract than the one he had, on the basis of age (in Spain keepers usually don't have careers as long as in England), so he waited out his contract and went to Galatasaray for a last good payout. Asenjo is better than Franco, particularly as a long term keeper.
