I don't think there's any comparison between dirty tackles and punching someone when play is stopped. It was a stupid move by an immature player and it deserves to be punished.

 

Seriously, how hard is it to play for 90 minutes and not punch somebody? It's just plain stupid and irresponsible. His ban could very well cost us points, which might be very costly towards the end of the season.

It's all well and good to punish him for instances of stupidity but where was the protection during the game against Wolves, I see little difference between that and him being targeted not for rough treatment but for dangerous tackles.

It's all well and good to punish him for instances of stupidity but where was the protection during the game against Wolves, I see little difference between that and him being targeted not for rough treatment but for dangerous tackles.

 

Can't really see how tackling someone can be compared to punching them.

He should just accept the charge and get back to playing. At the end its been blown over proportion but still it was a stupid thing to do and to take the risk of getting 4, 5 or 6 matches is pointless.

You can't, but please, that Wolves game was something out of a movie. The referee never protected him. I mean Joeys off-field antics shouldn't be compared with his on-field either. He has done much wrong, but then again there are many players who have and gets no stick compared to Joey.

If you punch someone you get banned, if you tackle someone you may or may not.  Tackling is part of the game (which is sometimes carried out badly/recklessly), throwing fists definitely isn't.

Don't really see why a deliberately dirty tackle is so much worse than a minor punch.  The former is far more likely to cause injury.
