I'd love to get rid of 90% of the squad, but if we aren't buying anyone what does this achieve other than making us weaker and less likely to get promoted? Isn't that all we can do though? This league is inferior (Stephen Carr got promoted FFS), so we are all in the process of watching how the team perform at this level and adjust our mindset as to what is and what isn't good enough. It will take a while to fully establish what a good player is and what a good player isn't at this level. Basically, if it wasn't for the wages, these players should get a clean slate for this season. However as it looks like no replacements will come in regardless, I don't really care that wages are burning Ashley's pockets. Serves him right.
