Guest kingdawson
Now that England have officially qualified, who would be in your squad as of now. Mine would be.. Goalkeepers James , Green, Foster Defenders Johnson, Richards, Ferdinand , Terry, Lescott, Upson, Cole, Bridge Midfielders Lennon, Walcott , Gerrard , Lampard , Barry, Carrick, J.Cole, Beckham Strikers Rooney, Defoe, Crouch, Heskey Rb cover for Johnson was hard but i think i'd have Micah Richards ahead of Luke Young. Harsh on SWP but Lennon, Walcott and Beckham is more then enough for rm. Was gonna pick Downing ahead of Beckham but i feel Lennon and Walcott could do a job on the left if J.cole is injured. I rate Carrick very highly so i think he should definately go. Up front it was basically a choice of Heskey and Cole and ive gone with Emile.

Keefaz
I wouldn't take Beckham, but there's no chance of that being the case. Why? Capello barely gives him a game. Wouldn't be surprised at all if Fabio took Milner instead.
Mike
GK James, That kid from the FA cup a few years back, Robinson Defense Brown, Bramble, Terry, Johnson Midfield You actually have a really good midfield with decent depth. So I'd just add Butt. Forwards Owen
Pilko
Fuck you Mike, you want us to lose. I'd agree with KD's but minus Beckham and plus Ashley Young.

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Fabio took Milner instead. It just seems like he keeps putting him (Beckham) on for the last ten minutes to keep his face in. Hope I'm wrong because Beckham has never been a big tournament player. Milner is one of those players who I could imagine going through his whole career picking up plenty of caps, but then just missing the final cut before every tournament. An England with it's shit together scares the hell out of me.
ponsaelius
f*** you Mike, you want us to lose. I'd agree with KD's but minus Beckham and plus Ashley Young. A. Young, Walcott and Lennon? No one fancy taking a left footer? Aye, Joe Cole should certainly be there if he's not crocked. Has been one of England's most consistent players in recent years. Pilko
It's stupid how Beckham always comes on as a late sub when the game is dead, he should be giving cameos to the likes of Carrick, Crouch etc, the ones he's hardly played.

Mike
Being honest, if you pick the right team, you could make it to the late stages, but I think those young GK's will be the death of you.
Ketsbaia
GK: James, Robinson, Foster DEF: Johnson, Terry, Ferdinand, Lescott, A Cole, Richards, King MID: Gerrard, Lennon, Beckham, Lampard, Walcott, Barry, Carrick, J Cole FOR: Rooney, Heskey, Defoe, Crouch, Owen Don't really watch England, but I don't rate Upson, Downing or Green. We all know King's injury problems but if used sensibly he's brilliant. Ashley Young is unlucky but I couldn't justify picking him, Lennon AND Walcott (whose versatility is a bonus). Owen's a tough one, but he's so desperate to get in the squad that he might actually try....at the end of the day he's Michael Owen (as painful as that is to say)

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Fabio took Milner instead. Totally agree, he just doesnt look comfortable putting him on. How come his only meaningful appearance was at home to a Pyrannean pub team? Possibly Ukraine aside did he ever come on when the game wasnt looking over as a contest? Capello noticably gives him more time in friendlies than proper games, wouldnt surprise me if he has no say in his inclusion given the fact some fans booed Lescott on the pitch on Saturday(meaning Beckham coundnt get on) and one of the biggest cheers of a 5-1 anhialation of a worlds top 10 team was for him coming on well after the game was remotely important. One paper even said people left on Saturday once it was clear Beckham wouldnt get on, how pathetic is that?

Fuck, really? We don't need one then, fuck Downing. This is probably the right answer. Can't really think of a half-decent left-footed winger except Downing. Think J.Cole and Milner can play there effectively.
Mike
Owen will absolutely fuck you. Get him out of there. Or don't Think Rooney will be dead tired by the time the WC rolls around. SAF is Scottish, man. He doesn't give a shit.

ElDiablo
At the end of the day I'd rather have Owen on the bench ready to come on if we're one nil down than someone like Bent or Crouch. They might be more rounded strikers but I just don't fancy them to score against a good defence. Owen would be my wildcard.
