Miercoles
http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/premier-league-paper-round-united-line-1-billion-075918245.html 1 billion for a kit sponsorship This made me laugh, from that same article: Everton may have to do without the services of Landon Donovan in the second half of the season, according to the Daily Mirror. The American striker has been a big hit in his loan spells at Goodison Park and has an open invitation to sign up once again in the New Year. But apparently the 30-year-old wants to go and find himself by backpacking to far-off lands. "Right now, I need time to think and that is impossible to achieve while I am playing," he said. "I plan to spend a lot of time travelling to distant places, alone. I'm not sure where." Can you tell he's from California?
Deuce
I love it. He'll become a vagabond, traveling to far off distant lands. Probably train at a monastery deep in Tibet, find himself and his true purpose, come back and lead the U.S. to victory in the World Cup. Become who you were born to be, Landon. Deuce
Wtf. That sounds shit and pointless. Sounds great. It's a ceremonial tournament to celebrate Copa America's centennial. Should be a good time.

Ameritoon
Some weird ass joint Concacaf and Comnebol 2016 Copa América is going to be held in the US. Is this official now? Think it will be great because the Gold Cup is shit, it's too bad we didn't put a full strength side out last time we were in Copa America.
ponsaelius
Just seems pointless. It will basically be the Copa America of the previous year but with a handful of central american teams thrown in.

ponsaelius
The reason the World Cup and Euros hold so much prestige is that they only come round every 4 years. Having what is basically another Copa America a year later cheapens it. Pretty clear that somebody, somewhere is making lots of money out of this idea. Probably, but isn't that true of every major tournament? This will probably just be a big exhibition without Confederations Cup considerations. I'm still hoping all the teams put out A-squads, would be the biggest tourney on U.S. soil since WC94.
ponsaelius
Oh yeah. It's in USA. This is definitely massively profitable. No need to pander to the latin American community with friendlies when you can have them all over for one massive friendly.
