ohmelads Posted October 17, 2009 Share Posted October 17, 2009 It looks like the message was to launch it to Carroll as the players have turned and aimed for him in every tight situation. He's not getting any joy. Forest showed us how it's done with some nice one-touch football, a string of passes along the deck and it's 1-0. So far we've looked like a league one side that has come up and is fighting for its life, lumping it to the big man and hoping for a lucky bounce or a defensive error. There's no invention or creativity on the pitch so we're back to hoofball. If we carry on the same in the 2nd half we'll lose, and deserve to. We are almost completely ignoring our wings and our midfield, playing the ball long and straight up the middle. This is making it incredibly easy for Forrest to defend, as they just stack the centre of their box and Carrol and Harewood get swamped. Lovenkrands & Guthrie have been absolutely useless, giving us no options on the wings at all. They just keep drifting up and down the side almost hiding. The defense has been appalling. They have all been regularly out of position, run around, out tackled, out muscled and generally played off the park. Qpr had.Blackpool had.Every team in the premiership had.As far as im concerned we have been shit since we came down its just our physicality has caught a couple of teams on the hop.
