Surely if we terminated his contract then he cant play for QPR until next season, the window is closed for free transfers so they couldn't buy him till 1st July and he has no parent club to loan him to QPR which makes his loan void?

i think mutually is the key word, he's a free agent if so

Oh, can clubs sign free agents outside of the transfer window? As I'm typing I'm realising the answer is probably yes.

Since this hasn't been confirmed anywhere else I tend to think this is misinformation. Absolutely no reason for us doing this. I still think Routledge is a good sqaud player for us and worst case, we would have no problem selling him in the summer for perhaps a profit.

who sent routledge to qpr on loan?  pardew or houghton?
