Dave
Heh. Same 'journalist' also credited us with a move for Edinson Cavani and Matt Jarvis in the last two days. Someone is taking the piss methinks.

henke
Humouring that prat, i mean journo, for a second. It would be a bit daft spending £40 mil on a strike partnership knowing that you'll lose them both when the african nations comes around.

80
Where's this "little credit Nolan gets" come from? There's more on this forum blindly defending him than there is criticising him. That's not true Don't disagree for a second that he gets credit from a lot of people nowadays, but can't accept there's more people blindly defending him than otherwise... ponsaelius
Like I've said before, I don't know what is worse. The people that argue Nolan is a total liability, or the people that argue it would take £20 million to replace him.

Nobody
That article is really weird First it says that he's been on a trial, and that the DOF of GAIS says "It shouldn't be a big deal", and then in the second part of the article, it says that they haven't really started negotiating with us. Seen plenty rightly saying we have bigger issues though.

Gyan cost the mackems £16m or something like that, didn't he?

Guest Flatline
He might score a lot, but how many goals has he cost us? Not saying he has cost us any, just wondering. Generally when our midfield gets over run its his fault. So a fair few I reckon, maybe more than he's scored. Hey, it doesnt matter how many goals and overran midfields he has cost us. he scores goals hence there must be more pressing issues, ask roger kint
Guest Flatline
It annoys me how crap Nolan can be but hey, he scores a lot. Well yeah. Can understand that opinion, as I share it. But saying he should be dropped from side is ridiculous. Without his goals, we'd really be in a relegation battle. I suppose it could be argued that with a good creative and goalscoring midfielder, we could be pushing the top 6, but for now there are more pressing issues within the squad that must be resolved. Without Nolan on the pitch we would not have had the goals but neither would we have had his shortcomings, totally different game tbh, might even have been several places higher with a properly conditioned CM with the ability to challenge and run through.. Cajun
We might have been *something, something if something, something *. Pointless. Nolan HAS scored a lot of goals and been a good captain. You can't argue with that because it is a fact.
JH
The whole "without him on the pitch and his goals, we'd be relegated" argument is bullshit anyway. Unless we played with 10 men like
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is understood to have approached French club Lille about the possibility of securing both Moussa Sow and Gervinho on a deal that would result in the pair spearheading a £40m-rated Magpies attack next season. http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/858932-moussa-sow-and-gervinho-subject-to-40m-newcastle-transfer-enquiry#ixzz1HShbQgzU
