Hanshithispantz
Italian as fuck that, Tiote & Cabaye is sexy, add another defensive midfielder in there and it's just getting daft.
Guest geordienorway
http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2011/20110614_101702_newcastle-suit-matuidi.html The original source. Followed by PSG, Blaise Matuidi, according to our newspaper, is also on Newcastle's wanted list, who want to team him up with their new signing, Yohan Cabaye. St-Etienne's management really want to get €15m from the sale of their midfielder, while his value is estimated at €8m. However the French international has a release clause of €12m in his contract. It's difficult to believe if even the English or new PSG owners would be prepared to spend that. If we really are in for Matuidi, it pretty much confirms Pardew wants to play 4-3-3. Both Cabaye and Matuidi possess defensive qualities that Barton and Nolan lack, and this will reduce the front three's defensive responsibilities. A midfield consisting of Tiote, Matuidi and Cabaye will be almost impossible to overrun imo.

Super Duper Branko Strupar
Somebody comment please, we are even on the yellow ticker thingy. That's what they want you to do. Get everyone excited about Mackems and us being after the same player. I'd very much doubt we were after Gardner. Was it followed by the SkyBet address? Hanshithispantz
Would stay well away from Gardner if the reported price of £5m is correct like. Bullshit story anyway, unless we we're thinking of bringing him in to play at RB, which I very much doubt.
Baggio
Author of a good first year for his debut among the elite, Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud (24, 37 games and 12 goals in Ligue 1 this season) is in the viewfinder of several English clubs. Newcastle, the Queens Park Rangers and Blackburn are interested in his profile, according to France Football. However, the former Tourangeau is likely to remain in the Herault club, where he recently extended his contract until 2014. Baggio
In recent days, according to various media, many clubs have made offers to engage the services of Blaise Matuidi. But all this is bullshit. ( ) PSG would have decided to make it his priority to the position of defensive midfielder to replace Claude Makelele , even more than the mid-Girondins de Bordeaux Alou Diarra . Newcastle, according to the team, would have made one of his priorities to associate Yohan Cabaye. The contenders are scrambling for the midfielder from Saint-Etienne. Finally, according to media reports. Because according to our sources, near Saint-Etiennne is the total nothingness. Indeed, while the bar to engage the services of the player would have been set by the leaders Etienne 15 million euros, Roland Romeyer would indeed received any bids yet on the table. Baggio
Saint-Etienne will not make a gift to the PSG on the case Matuidi, but not to either Newcastle Roland Romeyer is resentful. The President of Saint-Etienne , which has not really digested the PSG negotiating behind his back with Dimitri Payet last winter, has announced plans to make no gift to the Parisian club in the recruitment of winger and Reunion Blaise Matuidi, also on the shelves of Paris. "We have not received a formal proposal, said Romeyer in progress . As a rule, we contacted the club to which he belongs before the player himself. Paris does things backwards. Anyway, the good output is 15 million. We will not discuss below. "An amount that does not seem to scare Newcastle, which looks indeed interested in the French international. http://www.20minutes.fr/article/740783/rennes-envoie-bouler-real-psg-om-jeremy-menez
Baggio
Ajax reopens hunting Sigthorsson (AP) - Ajax makes this week a new attempt to attract Kolbeinn Sigthorsson. It says technical manager Danny Blind Tuesday to Voetbal International. The people of Amsterdam did a few weeks ago, a bid for the 21-year old Icelandic striker, but that Arizona rejected resolutely. "We will try this week with AZ talks to resume," said Blind. "No one would gain from this will be a lengthy matter." The Alkmaar club is about five million euros for Sigthorsson, who still has a contract until mid 2012. Ajax 3.5 million euro for the six-time international. Sigthorsson myself would prefer to go to Ajax, but the champion is not the only club who wants the striker. PSV also interested in the Icelander. In addition, also Newcastle United and Borussia Dortmund Sigthorsson to attract. The attacker was in 32 league matches last season fifteen times accurate. http://sport.nieuws.nl/646618/ajax_heropent_jacht_op_sigthorsson

Basically, according to L'Equipe, we are looking for a defensive midfielder (in this case Matuidi) to accompany Cabaye (which makes no sense as we've got Tiote). But Saint-Etienne haven't received any offers as yet. Matuidi's fee is fixed at 15 million euros.
toontownman
Would love to see us bring Matuidi in, Optimistics Nut's formation is tasty. However assuming the first three Pardew is talking about bringing in is Naylor, Ba and Erdinc and we are looking at just two more then I cant see it being another CM/DM. Surely the last two will be a winger (N'Zog hopefully) then a 4th CB (to replace Campbell) unless the club actually rates Kadar or Tavernier, the latter will surely act as wingback cover. Barnes23
http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-news/football/premier-league/transfer-rumours/8329/5/newcastle-weighing-summer-move-ajax-star Newcastle are weighing up a move for Ajax star Miralem Sulejmani as Alan Pardew gears up for a frantic round of summer spending. The Toon boss is eager to spend some of the £35m raised from the sale of Andy Carroll and has already sealed a deal for Yohan Cabaye, with moves for Blaise Matuidi and Demba Ba also in the pipeline. And talkSPORT understands Pardew is also monitoring Sulejmani at Ajax, but will have to stump up a sizeable fee for the winger, who can also play as a forward. Sulejmani, who was a target for West Ham last summer, broke the Dutch transfer record when he moved to Ajax for £15m in 2008 and he has a contract at the Amsterdam Arena until 2013. Pardew is committed to overhauling his Newcastle side and is keen to speak to Ajax regarding the Serbia international, who has seven caps for his country. Ajax are aware of interest in the 22-year-old but will be after a sizeable fee for him, with the club desperate to keep hold of their stars this summer.
