Ameritoon
So many empty seats. Thought I was watching a Wigan game for a second.
Guest firetotheworks
I don't think Uruguay have ever heard of defending. Brilliant.
Mike
Everyone in South Korea just screamed their heads off watching that ball roll.
Taylor Swift
Yes, he should have buried that.
gazza ladra
Need to finish that.
maybe_next_year
is the empty seat thing not to do with corperate seats being allocated but not being used? which would be FIFA's fault, not South Africa's?
Taylor Swift
Bs call, ref! Fuck off.
Guest firetotheworks
South Africa wanted to show the world they were capable of hosting a major International event. They've failed in my eyes, the amount of empty seats at a WC is just disgraceful and even more apparent than the empty seats at the Reebok/Riverside. This WC should have gone to Egypt. Aye, but life isn't pharaoh.
Mike
is the empty seat thing not to do with corperate seats being allocated but not being used? which would be FIFA's fault, not South Africa's? Would be a joke if all of those seats were unavailable to fans.
Ameritoon
is the empty seat thing not to do with corperate seats being allocated but not being used? which would be FIFA's fault, not South Africa's? Pretty much all FIFA's fault, no matter what.
chicago_shearer
Did people leave because of the rain? There weren't that many empty seats at the beginning of the match.
Guest firetotheworks
Seeing any empty seats at the WC is a pretty big no no like.
Mike
Did people leave because of the rain? There weren't that many empty seats at the beginning of the match. A lot of them have either left or moved out of the rain, but the seats in the corner have been empty from the start.
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Can't see it happening in Brazil for the next World Cup. People have raved about the carnival atmosphere at this one (which I haven't really seen), can't wait to see what its like in Brazil. They'll be going nuts. Mike
Reasonable shout for a FK there?
Mike
Didn't even get the full three minutes! Ref has to piss.
Guest ObiChrisKenobi
Eh, blew his whistle 4 seconds before full time and they were on the counter attack. Odd.
Shak
So, Uruguay qualify to play the USA in the last 8 if the US press is to be believed.

Guest firetotheworks
Aye, I thought the ref was really, really lenient throughout tbh. Complete opposite of that twat that spoilt the Chile/Switzerland match.
Mike
So, Uruguay qualify to play the USA in the last 8 if the US press is to be believed. ESPN has been awful this week. "Ghana? They have four million less people than California! How could they EVER beat us? ahahahahaha! Right Alexei?"
johnnypd
uruguay remind me of england a bit - don't play with any great fluidity but they have a lot of physical presence, bit of pace, fairly direct. like us they just try and keep it tight at the back and hope their good players up front deliver with end product without actually looking like the cohesive team of say chile. Taylor Swift
Well done, Korea. The Asian teams are slowly improving with every WC. It's really good to see.
The Prophet
South Korea probably should of won that, Uruguay are always going to be in the game with Forlan and Suarez though.
