TheGuv
With him being a deep lying Centre Forward i'm guessing a 10. I reckon it would be safer to have Robson 1. Or Robson 76. Or Sir Bobby 76? Shearer 9 wouldn't be too bad though...but its not his foundation, even though he is a patron for it
BlueStar
I presume there's no copyright problems with player names any more? Just remember playstation games having players like Des Fardinand and Chris Sotton.
TheGuv
Just though of an idea! If the SBRF thing goes tits up, what do you reckon about contacting Brown Ale logo to be used? Or would that just not work at all? What do you think :/
M4
Little tweakage: http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/3968/nufcfanstop2.jpg How about the star logo from that t shirt site? http://img23.imageshack.us/img23/4674/nufcfanstop1.jpg http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/8392/nufcfanstop3.jpg
Dave
First one in particular. Which would be nice even without the Foundation sponsor (if they refuse).
Kaizero
Just though of an idea! If the SBRF thing goes tits up, what do you reckon about contacting Brown Ale logo to be used? Or would that just not work at all? What do you think :/ It'd potentially be a viable option if it was in an actual sponsorship kind of way, i.e. they put up the £7000 Viga deposit letting all proceeds from the very beginning go to the SBR foundation. (I take it we're all in agreement that if this happens they'll get the money, regardless of them endorsing it or not? Yeah?)
TheGuv
Of course. Just it will obviously sell more if it does have their endorsment. M4TT: I really like the first shirt mind. Fu**ing lush
Mistle17
If the shirt was to have a standardised name and number on the back, what should it be? ROBSON 1 Though he didn't play in net. Shearer 9? Any ideas? I think just a simple red no.9 would be easiest tbh.

Dave
Yeah but that shirt doesn't have the big patch on the back. It's pretty unavoidable with plain shirts tbh.
broonalegeordie
you're planning on having a patch on the back?!

broonalegeordie
nope! i skipped the bit about using the nike template!
TheGuv
Whatever happpens it has to have the town crest on IMO. Looks more credible and close to the actual club badge which it originates from
Dave
nope! i skipped the bit about using the nike template! I don't think Kaizero has given up on the Robson Foundation (and rightly so), but this is just a backup idea. As mentioned, all the blank template shirts are obviously designed for use by Sunday League teams etc and so have the big patch on the back for names and numbers. TheGuv
thanks. hope the foundation allow the logo to be used, one without just wouldnt be the same. Definitley. Not sure what points will be needed to persaude them? Perhaps... 1 year anniversary of SBR death All proceeds to foundation What else?
Ketsbaia
How about something like "To coincide with the one year anniversary of Sir Bobby's death, the fans would like to commemorate the legacy of a club icon. So many people - not just football fans - were touched by Sir Bobby's kindness and he'll forever be fondly remembered in North Eastern culture. Just to reiterate, this shirt is not part of a fan protest. Rather it is an alternative option to those who'd like to see their money help promote a worthwhile cause, whilst cherishing a wonderful man that made supporting this club a pleasure for 5 years." etc. Just need to perfect the 'professional but passionate' mix and make it sound like both sides have the foundation's best interests at heart (which we do). Worded correctly, we can definitely nail this.

broonalegeordie
i cant be arsed to back through the whole thread.... but could Toffs not be contacted? thing is, they could create the Bobby special edition shirt, hoy on the toon coat of arms, the sir bobby logo, and then donate 5 - 10 pound per shirt to the SBRF..... plus im sure that would help sell the shirts with the company already being so popular
