Guest Antigalican
Last time I did this friendly the train back was one of those curry trains where the waiters try and serve wine to the diners and take their orders on the train before they get off at Corbridge. It didn't really work!!

Pilko
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2010/07/12/nufc-s-young-stars-urged-to-push-for-places-72703-26834843/ United were putting youngsters such as Haris Vuckic, Geordie striker Phil Airey and Irish defender Stephen Folan through their paces at their Dublin training base at Carton House today – and all three may feature in Saturday’s 1pm kick-off at Carlisle in the first of the Toon’s pre-season matches. Hughton is also toying with the idea of handing Xisco a run out at Brunton Park after admitting before pre-season started he wanted to see how the £5m man had progressed during his loan stint with Racing Santander in La Liga. Hughton also has the likes of Kazenga LuaLua and keeper Fraser Forster back at his disposal after loan stints at Brighton and Norwich respectively. The Toon boss knows that Slovenian ace Vuckic heads the way from Newcastle’s “development group” but has thrown the gauntlet down to the promising bunch of youngsters who reached the last four of the FA Youth Cup. Hughton told the Chronicle today: “Haris has trained with the first team and will do so again next season – we’ll be seeing more of him. “Then you have a batch of players who were successful in the FA Youth Cup and are now part of what we call the development squad – the link between the Academy and first team. “They’ll be based with us at the first-team base. “We value them very highly, but do I see them coming into the first team soon? “That will be up to them. “They have been told the door is ajar and it can be pushed open. “They’ve got a good future ahead of them but we need experience and quality. “But as I say, it’s up them. “Realistically one or two of them might get their chance but they all know that they can push their way into the side.”

Yorkie
I'm expecting two teams in either half. That's what we did in this fixture last year (vs Shamrock).
Guest Heneage
I'd like to see 1 or at most 2 of the youngsters given time in our strongest side, and not just all lumped on together.
