Said it once and I'll say it again, I quite like McCarthy. Consistently comes out with some crackers.

Also, Piqiuonne is looking decent.

West Ham are considered relegation fodder a lot of people here, but Victor Obinna, Piquionne, and Carlton Cole are far better than anything we have here. Carlton Cole can't even get a game at the moment.

Carlton Cole is shite.

Obinna has looked worryingly decent like.

Carlton Cole is f***ing s***. Couldn't trap a bag of sand. Just had a Michael Ricketts season last season.

If we are comparing Nigerian strikers with English passports, I would gladly take Carlton Cole over Shola bloody Ameobi. It is barely even a contest. Cole's physicality alone troubles most teams in this league.

The ridiculous thing about Obinna is that they've got him on a loan for essentially nothing. No risk, and they'll probably buy him if they stay up. Why weren't we in there? Pretty much exactly what we needed.

Cole's a good player, a good enough striker for a mid-table side, and has been for quite a while now (3 years or so). his all round game is as good as, say, carroll's, with the addition of more pace. they both present around as much goal threat as the other. Think people are pretty complacent about our quality comparative to other sides, we're not that good and a bottom three side in terms of our offering up front or creativity. in that respect west ham and even wigan are quite a bit ahead.

Don't doubt that point about us but apart from a big lad and having some pace Cole is a poor player. Awful technique and first touch.

3 years ago he netted 4 goals in 31 Premier League games, he's average at best.

his all round game is fine and has been for a few years now. he's added a decent scoring rate to that the past couple of season (roughly one in three) to make him a good mid-table striker. would walk into our first XI.

They look very fit, Holloway has obviously got them all in good shape.

Yes, and I can think of at least 2 of the Newcastle side who aren't....isn't that right, Kevin and Joey..!???

City definitely look like Chelsea's main threat this season. Solid at the back and midfield, and have enough on the flanks and up front to always score goals. Think they'll finish no lower than 3rd, probably 2nd, maybe 1st.

Jordan Henderson really does seem a decent prospect for the Scum, pretty sure we'll see a lot more young 'uns coming through... sadly.
