Just a little bump to make some of you feel better.

We are building the team around Ben Afra and Tiote.

I suggest going to Dailymotion and watch the video: Hatem Ben Arfa vs. Everton

Wow. Fucking amazing agility and acceleration. Such skill and technique too.

He was far too good for that Everton side. He was a few minutes ahead of them in his head.

That video man  you cant help but get excited .

Get some players to help support him and it will be an exciting year.

Ba and Cabaye is a good start, but we need more.

Right now this still looks good.

                Ba or Best

Jonas          Ben Afra          Barton

          Tiote            Cabaye

His was exceptional in that Everton game. f*** i hope the injury hasn't ruined him.

Don't say things like that

:frantic: :weep:

Must admit it's all I keep thinking  Watch that video and, typical Newcastle, am stopping myself from getting too excited.

If he can score a goal every games or something we could really challenge for a euro place.

Definitely, a goal every game would do nicely.

:iamatwat:

Why just a goal a game?  I want more.

As awesome as his play was against Everton, it's also pretty nerve wracking looking back on his style of dribbling. Arfa sucks players in and beats them by just about getting to the ball first most of the time (and at pace), so every other dribble seems to involve a near head on collision. He'll need alot of protection from our players to ensure the ref clamps down on anyone going in hard for his legs and not the ball, and at the same time will probably have to start diving a bit when he senses a dirty b****** with rage eyes coming at him.

He could absolutely storm the league next year.

not on his own, he won't. Still need to build a good team around him and have some decent forwards with movement. Then I think we could see the best of him.

Fuck, why did I have to watch that game again man! Absolutely cannot wait to see him again :)

Love how he doesn't throw himself to the ground every time he's touched, or even almost touched, he always wants to keep going. Reminds me of Messi, that, actually.

Great vid that... Would like him to leave the ball a bit more in certain situation like...

It is exactly his main default ! He always want to dribble 2 or 3 players ; of course he can but it doesn't work every time. He has to correct it, it could do it if his team mates offer him solutions on the pitch.

Certainly this video shows a lot of his quality but i think it is only a "glimpse" of all of his talent. I mean i thought he was average/quite good during this match.

His tecnic, ability, close control, vision of the game, dribbles, acceleration of course are all part of his talent.

The only thing that worry me is his mental, because you need a strong mental to overcome such an injury... And it is not that he is mentally weak but he had to feel that people love him to shine (especially the fans, his coach or his team-mates). It is a bit strange to say such thing for a football player but it is like that it works with Ben arfa.

But i really think he can succeed in Newcastle next season, particularly because it seems that there will be numerous french speaking players in your squad. By the way if you sign Ba it could be a good partnership with HBA because they both come from the parisian suburb (Ba is from Chatillon, a town which is very close to my own and close to Clamart where Ben arfa was born). They'll understand well.
