RE: YouTube Clips, Internet Streams, Copyrighted Football-Related Media

Recommended Posts

can't you just disable embedding of videos on the forum!

just a question as well, how are music videos allowed as i'm guessing a few of them must be unauthorized, or is it because we don't get music organizations look at the forum?

We could, but we don't want to, it's a good feature why should we get rid of it because some people can't accept the rules, people will just have to restrain themselves.

Basically; yes.

Yes, funnily - not actually funnily, but anyway - enough the posting of copyrighted information, in that instance the fixture lists.

The reason Pirate Bay CAN'T be shut down is because they don't host anything.

Same goes here, but if the admin don't want it then we have to respect that. The legality/legitimacy of it is irrelevant.

The rules of the forum are dictated by the owners of the forum. It's the way it should be.

No second chance ban is a bit harsh though ;D ;)

What about linking to but not embedding? Is that still prohibited?

Weren't the blokes who run Pirate Bay sentenced to a year in jail and fined about 2 million quid though?

The Pirate Bay was shut down for a while, the difference between us and them is that we don't have the resources to fight a court case. Also, we've learned from experience (ie the fixture list thing) all it takes is a letter from someone's solicitors and the hosting company will take the site down, regardless of the legality of it. That's the reality of it, if you want to change that reality go ahead. As I said before, let us know when you have. ;)

We used to give people second chances, they didn't take them and now we can't be arsed, people tend to remember a ban more than a warning, it seems. People always say it's harsh, but what's harsher is everyone being "banned" from the site because it's been taken down due to the actions of some wannabe internet freedom fighter not sticking to the rules. This rule is there to protect the existence of the site, if it didn't need to be there it wouldn't be and it's as simple as that.

These threads always end up like a conversation with a woman, how about just shut the fuck up and accept it bitch? There are perfectly valid reasons I tried to put it in there so I will not be answering any further questions.

Thanks x

The fixture list is a whole different animal to youtube clips, though, because posting fixtures is violating copyright and stuff because this forum doesn't have the license for it.

However, posting videos that this site does not host nor makes the claim that it owns shouldn't be prohibited. I realise nothing's going to change but the point should still be made that there's no reason that posting clips should be illegal unless the copyright owners insist that it does, and if they do, they'll be taking that up with youtube and not N-O.

Like I said that's not how it works in reality. If you want it to change you'll have to contact the Premier League's lawyers directly, as I don't think they're signed up to here.

No bother. Maybe as an admin you should know by now to quote (or bold) only the part you're commenting on to save confusion

I'm just playing but it did seem you decided to lecture me on reality and the existence of the site even though my post was clearly a user supporting the thread  O0

Sorry I'm not part of the NO clique  :iamatwat: <- btw; best name for a smilie yet! lol

we ought to have a "clique watch" to register and monitor the cliques. theres the mod clique, the NOFC clique, the geeky gamers clique.....anymore ?
