Aye was gutted about that, he was fantastic and they ignored him. I don't think Hodgson or Mancini would have failed to recognise how good he was though. CM is such an important position and if you replace someone like smith with some who looks like he could be a very good player in cheick, then we will reap the rewards. Stu Posted September 19, 2010 Share Posted September 19, 2010 He's so much better than Smith, it's just ridiculous. He's athletic, strong, two good feet and keeps possession very well. He switched the play nicely and is able to take the sting out of the game when we're on the back foot. Worked well with Joey, as well. Smith should do the right thing and retire after that display.
