Glad it was Martinez who cost them, cocky fucker all the time, nice to see it come back at him.

Also Emery is close to Arteta levels of petulance. Becoming more and more dislikeable as time passes.

Soft decision on their goal though,  nevermind [emoji38]

Edit* They probably will win the Europa if this season was anything to go off. However hopefully it will impact their league form doing the Thursday - Sunday chore.

Edit 2* although also that means they get CL again even if their league form tanks like Spurs.

Maybe we were better off finishing 6th afterall [emoji38]

Tbf to Man U and Spurs - this new European format makes it difficult to do well in Europe and the premier league. The level is too high.

what you reckon of our transfer window this summer big man? I've a hunch it's going to be THEE window we've all been waiting for.

Just seen the "goal" for the first time. While I understand their grievance, more often than not the keeper gets those decisions so not really the biggest controversy ever, as Villa and the media are trying to make it.

I hope so too.
Eddie’s done wonderfully to get us in the CL. The squad is so thin.

Villa are pretty much fully fit bar 1 I think tbf. They brought on Malen and Barkley as their final subs. Think Barkley starts for us and Malen might too - today I mean.

Nah if the ref had not blown his whistle before the goal went in - it would’ve stood.  They are unlucky in that moment.

Equally they would’ve been somewhat lucky that we shat the bed against Everton.

As I say, I can understand their grievance but I've seen loads worse where over protected goalkeepers get decisions no outfield player would.

But it would’ve been overturned if the ref had delayed the whistle.  Thats the issue. It being a foul is not the issue. Blowing the whistle is.

At least to me anyway. Didn’t have the audio on high.

Possibly, probably, but my point is that keepers get too many over protective decisions and it happens regularly. Probably wouldn't have heard about it if it hadn't been such a crucial game :)

It's the equivalent of getting a penalty against when you get the ball and don't even touch the opponent. Although the scenarios you talk about are real, they are often subjective. This one was objectively a clear and obvious mistake. There are absolutely no possible arguement to be made for it being a free kick after seeing the replay. Just because some other situations are soft doesn't make a scandalous decision any less scandalous.

Again, Villa deserved to lose that game anyways, as it was pretty much men against boys from the first kick of the ball.

Who do you think Barkley is playing ahead of, Bruno or Tonali?

Could easily win the Europa tbf

Annoyingly, this was going to be my silver lining if it went tits up for us today.

Rather have the financial clout needed this summer, and maybe even drop into this next year.

Fuck the cunts, no sympathy for them.

Sink or swim in this world, they’re a big rival in the direction we’re headed and with us coming out on top this time round, stands us in good stead.

They’ve sold a few players, no? Think they’ll be fine (ish). Might have to sell Ramsey or some other decent academy product.

They need a big sale before the PSR deadline, confirmed by all their journos. You are correct mind, they have plenty of saleable assets. Biggest blow for them is Kamara apparently wanted champions league football to sign his new contract.

I think it may well be the exact opposite.

Its more about wages for clubs in Europe now. and Villa pay massive ones (in relative terms to their turnover).

They need to sell ASAP. A few clubs will be sniffing around them before the PSR deadline. Just like us last year.
