Hanshithispantz
Smalling and Jones are much younger than him and Cahill is the same age. Why you're mentioning that I don't know. Because he can get better, its quite relevent dont you think, as they might but as it stands he is a better player on current form than Cahill, Jagielka and Terry. Ah, because you saw Terry slip against Arsenal you conclude that Taylor is better 'on current form'. Stop wasting my time, muppet. ffs man
Ronaldo
Is Zamora supposed to be in on form like? He was when he was called up.
Foluwashola
Is Zamora supposed to be in on form like? He was when he was called up. Well he isn't in particularly blistering form at the minute and appears to be another player who gets picked because he's familiar to Capello. Terrible example anyway; Zamora has never been and will never be an international level player. This isn't the case with some of the form players Capello is leaving out. Ahhhhh abuse, the irony...........................on current form Taylor is one best in the country, i said current form, i'll say it slower so your brain can understand, c u r r e n t f o r m !!! Now Fozzie Bear do you understand, he deserves a call up as he is playing better than Terry, and no not because Terry made a mistake against Arsenal, which by the way wasn't even his mistake, it Malouda's bad pass to him, he is in better form than Cahill and Jagielka, him being called up doesn't mean instead of any of those, it can mean as well as. Kermit do you enjoy life ? you sure are one misery guts, fonzy cheer up fella. It Would be nice to see you support the team instead of slagging them off, now Scotter along. AY
Someone actually rating Jagielka? No way is he good enough for England or better than Taylor.
Ronaldo
Playing better than Terry. OK.
Guest bimpy474
Playing better than Terry. OK. You dont think obviously, but honestly i think he is, he isn't a better player, absolutely no doubt about that, the table and more importantly goals conceeded doesn't lie and for me he is in better form, playing in a better defence, long term this season they will take us over but my point is, because Capello has said he picks players on form, which is the biggest bit of bullshit he comes out with, Taylor deserves to be the squad. oldtype
Basically if Taylor isn't even getting a chance now he's not going to get picked ever. Is he bad enough to deserve that? What purpose does it serve to have the same guys warming the bench every friendly?

oldtype
Gives the manager the opportunity to see him train with the other England players and make a proper assessment of him instead of bringing in a bunch of dudes that he's already seen a hundred times and won't start anyway. Ronaldo
He hasn't seen the likes of Smalling and Jones a hundred times.
Foluwashola
Why would he have to be on the bench? Friendlies should be used to give new players a run-out.

gbandit
Do you reckon he's doing all these media talks in a bid to boost his profile (for an england call-up)? Because whenever he appears on these shows, his chat is this "We're working hard, we're playing as a team, Pardew has got us playing for each other, we're walking hard in training and we need to keep it going by working hard." Cheers Tayls
cfcmagpies
Looking towards his post-football career and a job in the magedia. He'd be quality on TV, tbh.
Wullie
Cahill's one of the league's most overrated players imo. I can appreciate maybe he's a good footballer but can he defend? No better than any average top flight centre half and worse than a fair number.
Guest Howaythetoon
I've always rated Taylor as a more than adequate Premier league centre-back with the attributes to become much more than that. Injuries, a succession of poor partners at the back, poor and struggling teams with clueless managers and of course rash decision making have all hampered his progress or potential. For the first time in his Toon career, however, he is fit and playing alongside the ideal partner and in a side that is playing well under a manager who seems to be working on his game. As a result he is now putting in consistently good performances at the highest level of English football. He is out performing those who are being called up and selected for England duty and on that basis alone deserves a call up and perhaps a cap. The fact that hasn't happened is down to the idiotic manager in charge and the never ending fashion within 'Team England' of overlooking players in form or players who are not a name. I used to watch Taylor a lot for the under-21s and he would more often than not be a key man in that side and in their games, often putting in the Terry of Chelsea like performances and generally lloking like a future England centre-back and maybe even a future captain. He was immense against the Dutch a few years back and as a fellow Geordie watching on I was really proud to see one of our own representing his country so heroically. He always looked different at Newcastle though, making rash decisions and playing without any real collective responsibility. He was trying to be the hero all the time. Now he's more mature and his game is showing signs of consistent improvement. I like him as well, he seems a good lad in the dressing room and he does serious amounts of charity work for the foundation and general public stuff visiting schools, hospitals etc. which never get documented. You never hear about him getting drunk or being a tit either, in fact you never hear nowt and that's because he's a good professional. We finally have a very good centre-back partnership, probably the best in our Premier League history and long may it continue. Its heartneing to see a former Toon academy player making the grade and performing so well.
