Tsunami
Get rid; we have too many CH's and they're ten a penny.......Sol still has a couple of years left in him. He's barely got the rest of the season left in him man. You'd give him that long? He makes Cacapa look like an acrobat in his time here. Rather have the lad below in the team tbh. EthiGeordie
I agree I think Sol can play another season for is.... It is better to sign another center half but starting next week pls drop have a center half who signed for 5 and half year at this football club.... Troll
Get rid; we have too many CH's and they're ten a penny.......Sol still has a couple of years left in him. That'll be why the only defender on the bench was Perch.
Kaizero
I'd be content with Colo/Willo as first choice centre pairing, Sol as third choice and Kadar as fourth choice for the remainder of the season tbh. That said, it's mostly because I'm not a fan of S. Taylor as I think he's being a greedy twat holding his childhood club to ransom when he knows what a tight git we got as an owner, it makes it seem clear to me that he wants out. Guest michaelfoster
Keep him as backup & let Sol go at the end of the season, he's a liability. If theres a defender in the squad who's earning too much its Colocinni
TRon
Taylor's better than Sol, and I'd like to keep him as a squad player tbh He's not asking for a squad player's wages.

Dave
Still hope he stays; he's our third best centre half and probably as talented a player we'll find for that role given our budget.

David Icke - Son of God
I'd not lose any sleep if I never saw him in a Newcastle shirt again to be honest. I know we don't know all the ins and outs of his contract situation but it's not as if he doesn't have form for trying to hold the club to ransom. I don't think he'll ever be a top quality centre back regardless of who he is playing alongside either. Signing Williamson was the final nail in the coffin for Taylor. He came in, did the basics and really showed how poor of a defender Saylor is. He's also got Kadar breathing down his neck who looks like a fantastic prospect. Taylor was pretty much faultless in the first half of the Championship season and since he's came back he hasn't done much wrong. Campbell has been shaky and cost us a couple of goals but Taylor has been fine, IMO, two solid performances against Chelsea and Liverpool. I don't see the point in arguing this point because too many people are blinded by their hatred of Taylor on this forum but I think it's pretty sad some of the jibes at him. I'd have been furious is Taylor wasn't capable of playing at Championship level given the amount of time he's had bluffing his way through games in the top flight. For a player that had never had the chance to prove himself at the top level Williamson's performances in this year have been very good, save for the odd moment. I don't think it's up for debate who the better defender is out of the two. Taylor was fucking awful yesterday, both our centre backs were. There was quite a few occasions when he switched off and played Liverpool onside. Simpson had a right go at him at least twice because he was dicking around and letting them in. Taylor's response? He waved his armed around a bit, gestured to the rest of the back four to push up and then did the same thing again a few minutes later.
Cajun
I don't think Williamson is twice the player but I don't think Taylor is any better. There isn't much between them tbh and given Taylor seems to have become injury prone and looks likely to be off then Williamson would be my pick of the two.
