Good stuff  Said it before that he gets far too much stick off some people. Far from a great footballer, but his hold up play is generally good, he's a decent finisher and terrific penalty taker. Useful player who can do a job for us if we want to compete in all 3 competitions this season.

All of this

Also, the figures (£30k+ pw) mentioned in this thread are far, far wide of the mark.

Less than half of that.

Can't for a single moment see how this fella is good enough to play for NUFC. I can only assume he fitted into Ashleys 'cheap as fuck' remit.

Exactly. Cheap, average player to be our third choice striker.

I accept that were we challenging near the top of the league then he'd be nowhere near the squad, but as we are a midtable side with an owner who is far from likely to spend good money on a quality striker he's decent enough to stay on the books. The cheap thing does also come into it, obviously.

Guest sicko2ndbest

Pointless IMO, nowt against the bloke personally but we should have moved on years ago. Not good enough by a long way.

Who else is going to stay/come as 3/4 choice striker. On his day he is effective, half the time he isn't pretty much what you would expect from a 3/4 choice striker
