morpeth mag
I like what he's trying to do. I we're going to plat 433 or 4231 its important the full backs get forward to provide width. Hope Enrique stays but if not he'll need replacing and in my view simpson should be a back-up so a top RB is needed. On top of that we need at least one more striker. ponsaelius
My dad had that lot on the radio on the way to the WBA game. I heard Macdrunkard have a right go at Sammy Ameobi for 'smiling like a cheshire cat despite not being picked for the squad.' 'That's what's wrong with the modern game' - apparently. Eh? SimplyAnth
Mr.Pardew has definately grown on me like. Was gutted when he first signed...
chicago_shearer
Hope he gets some French language tapes for Father's Day. Would probably make his job easier next season.
MyPalAl
Just posted in the players in public thread about seeing Pardew on both Thursday night and last night in Puerto Banus, but it maybe should have been in here? Apologies if it should, but I don't know how to edit it and put it in here

MyPalAl
Seem in good spirits? Yeah, very much so. Very relaxed and approachable (not that I hassled him (oh wait, maybe I did about Colo!))

I heard Macdrunkard have a right go at Sammy Ameobi for 'smiling like a cheshire cat despite not being picked for the squad.' 'That's what's wrong with the modern game' - apparently. Eh? Exactly. In his day players would shed a tear if they weren't picked to play or be on the bench.
Pilko
Now I finally understand his comments from after the Liverpool game when he said we lacked "je ne sais quoi". He was basically saying that we didn't have enough frogs in the team.
Guest Antec
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2011/06/20/yohan-cabaye-french-influx-will-boost-nufc-72703-28907590/ Pardew is contemplating a 4-4-1-1 formation with Hatem Ben Arfa or Cabaye playing ‘in the hole’ behind a lone striker – probably Demba Ba. He also wants his team to adopt a quicker, more fluid style – and will look to end the direct style that United employed when Andy Carroll was still at the club. Lush Vlad
I'm sure Cabaye said in L'Equipe Pardew said he wanted to play him as a deep lying playmaker? Is this just more guesswork from our local journos. Would think he'd play alongside Tiote in a 4-2-3-1.
Taylor Swift
That 4-4-1-1 formation is pretty much this: Tiote Cabaye Marveaux N'Zogbia Ben Arfa Ba It's a 4-2-3-1 when we attack, and 4-4-1-1 when we defend as the two wingers drop back. Sexy.
thomas
We've signed N'Zogbia?

Ocho
Yep, I think he'll play Barton right and Marveaux left. Jonas on the bench. If we sign Erding, will he start on the bench?

thomas
I hope he knows what he's doing, changing out 5 of our starting front six.
JH
Reckon we could really do with a winger on the right. As great as Barton was last season, he'd be the obvious weak link in a front six with his mobility and pace not his strongest attributes. That and we need a balanced side. STM
More likely IMO: Cabaye Tiote Marveaux Ben Arfa Barnetta Ba
STM
Is Marveaux actually any better than Jonas? A very good question and (of course) time will tell but you have to feel Pardew intends on playing Marveaux in the first team.
