When you slow it down and analyse it, there's not a thing wrong with it. He's in control, he wins the ball and doesn't lead with the studs. Unfortunately I've no faith in the FA to realise this.

If this does get rescinded, (the tiny chance it will), I'll be fucking over the moon.

It won't though.

Quite frankly if anyone thinks that was a reckless challenge they're a big screaming hom.

That is all.

Thank God I changed my opinion after a second look.

Wish we could get Andy Townsend on the appeal committee,  normally think he's a knob but just done a good piece on Tiote, Gerrard, the rafael/meireles tackle and then the mackie/givet tackle which sadly resulted in a double fracture for mackie.

Slightly promising. I'm sure a former referee is in more of a position to comment on the incident than any of us.

Are they former Premier League referees? If so, I apologise.

There's nee hope man. Both feet of the ground in the modern game = straight red. FA will stand behind their referee.

not so sure, the replays show he had studs up but going away from the man.

pissi...marriner done what was right in the heat of things. it's only the replays that show a different light i'm not a fan of video evidence but exploit the rules as they exist.

I agree, the replay shows the tackle to be nigh on perfect and infact not very dangerous at all. It is studs down, one footed and hooks the ball away. I just can't see it being look upon in that way, they will simply see the image of Tiote levitating and end the discussion there and then.

If we were allowed to personally argue our case and show replays etc then we might have a chance, but under the current system it will simply be waved away. I even worry that it could be claimed to be 'frivolous' and his ban could be extended.

Don't think it's in danger of getting extended like.

This thread alone shows there is room for appeal. It'd be harsh for them to say it was a 'frivolous' appeal. We can just send Foluwashola and sicko in with Tiote :pow:

This. Whatever we say or think they will see that
